Al Sharpton is not the brightest bulb on the planet. Obviously, he has not understanding of what Socialism is. A social program is not Socialism. Socialism is government ownership of business and industry; collective ownership and everyone works for the government. I'm sure you'll never hear Obama advocate anything of the sort. He's a lawyer. You don't get more Capitalist than that.
Al sharpton is a disgrace to this country and how he is a civil rights leader when he makes racist coments about jews and makes anti religous remarks about mormons. way to go al sharpton.
Notice how on Fox, Rightwing hosts allow Leftwing guests to have their say even while disagreeing with them. When I watch MSNBC, I am amazed at how far-Leftwing nutjobs who call themselves "liberal," scream down anyone with a dissenting opinion. Conservatives on Hardball can barely get a word in edgewise.

People who voted for him did vote for socialism.Now you have it.Remember that country boys can survive off the land.Most of you idiots that voted for him can't survive without a store down the road.Maybe this is the best thing.
the American people blindly voted for a catchy slogan. its unfortunate that the slogan actually translated into "destroy America" and no one had a decoder ring at the time... well some of us did...
@subher. First you say you haven't used profanity, then you try to defend your ignorant vernacular by justifying it as "freedom of speech." Pick one side or the other sir. Technically hate speech is speech in itself. "freedom of speech" does not mean, nice, PC words only.
ummmm.... does no one else realize that he never said "voting for Obama was a vote for socialism"? He made the point that Obama was elected on (partially) the premise that he was going to reform health care. He did so. Therefor if re-forming health care is socialism, he was elected based on socialism. Way to twist it "Fair and Balanced."
sharpton said NOTHING OF THE KIND. in reply to the host's injection of the words, "argue to socialism...", sharpton said, "the american public overwhelming voted for socialism..." irrespective of what sharpton may believe, he is simply stating if people believed obama is a socialist but still voted for him, then they voted for socialism.
Al Sharpton is a shit stain for all Blacks... He sets em all back 100 years... a constant loud mouth , non working , lazy , race blaming hypocrite... If I was black I'd be ashamed ...Him and Jesse Jackson are the worst thing that could happen to the credibility of blacks..
I am an outsider, so I'm not for or against Obama - I just observe. And my observation is that 1 social bill does not make socialism. The term is just used to discredit Obama. The US has a capitalist economy, meaning that healthcare is there to make money, nothing else. So Aids, Cancer and other deseases that can be cured are not, because they mean big business, like "helping" Africa - have you ever seen improvement there? No, but some people get very rich !! Like doctors.
The framing of your question is flawed. Rev. Sharpton said that if this is socalism, that this is what the people voted for(paraphrased). It is not the same as saying the people voted for socalism. Either you are ignorant or you are being deceptive. Stop it
My friend, republicans have watered down the bill so hard that no indeed the people don't want this bill, they want a bill leaning MORE TOWARDS socialism, not the republican watered down Democratic proposed bill that's going to be implemented now. Correct.
Because EVERY politican do exactly what they are runing for! This is a pretty missleading video. One of the things that was campaigned was about healthcare, and breaking a system where insurence companies DON'T GIVE A SHIT about YOU, is apperently, socialism.
I certainly voted for socialism, but am seriously disappointed at Obama's actions. He barely fought, if at all, for a public option like he said he would. What kind of socialist wouldn't fight for single-payer or a public option?
Hello, American brother! If I may say so, I LOVE YOU (no homo). Finally!! Somebody on YouTube with some common sense and speaking the truth! I am so frustrated and disgusted that our AMERICAN country has popularized and embraced socialism as if it were the best thing since sliced bread!! WHAT THE HELL?!! Socialism has been a European thang; Representative Democracy has been the American thang! It is the main thing that has made us stand out from all the rest of the countries in the world!!
In addition, Americans care more about who wins American Idol than how many soldiers and innocent civilians are being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. KEEP WATCHING THE FLASHING LIGHTS PEOPLE. SHEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Obama spends more time at basketball games and democratic fund raisers than fixing our economy, deficit or corrupt wall street gangsters. Now our so called leaders have just passed the largest entitlement bill in the history of the world.
9 Trillion dollars is our national debt. Experts predict it will triple over the next 10-15 years. The dollar becomes weaker and weaker every passing day. China, Russia and India are holding private meetings to remove the dollar as the global reserve currency. Americans conitnue to get fatter and fatter (1/3 of Kids are diabetic; 1/2 of adults are over weight and unhealthy).
Many Americans want to be taken care of by our government. So many have been raised to take advantage of every program out there. One week after the bill was signed, my company had a new medical policy in place and my deductible is now $1500 PER PERSON per year. I am just a single, hard-working, low paid employee. This is working out great.
Those that voted for Obama in 2008 DID vote for socialism, although the majority of those that did most likely didn't understand what socialism was. Obama never came out and said the words "I am a socialist" be he did make it clear that he was a socialist.
Who is my ethnic Spokesman. Wow Al Sharpton is a irrelavent idiot big Dumb Dumb I really think he's the racist and only divides the country with his hate of whitey
Health care did not need to reform. America already had a free enterprise system. This bill is a government TAKEOVER of that system and it must be repealed, constitutionally speaking. To answer the question: No, America did not want Socialism, but was trojan horse tricked into it by Dems. America would never knowingly adopt Socialism, except under the deceitful guise of Liberalism.

2) 52% is not overwhelming, Al. Just like 51% wasn't overwhelming to you liberals in 2004. Unless the difference in the "overwhelming" factor is 1%. LOL
3) Sharpton uses the word "campaigned" (past tense). Incorrect. He is still campaigning in the present.
@hpfan Problem was that no one, especially the media, asked him how he was going to go about any of the things he said he would do. They were all mesmerized by his charisma and rhetoric and never stopped to do the one thing that we should all do; question our government.
@moosemw Health care of course. It is not perfect but he is the only on 100 years that did something. All politicians can't keep promises because it always needs approvals from both parites. And the party of no is good at saying no. Then the blame the president for not delivering the promise.

@2bpilot I absolutely agree with you. When people talk the truth, the fact he was black was what helped him win, people start calling you racist. That isn't racism, it's the truth. Just because he is black, does not mean he is Dumbledore or something. He doesn't have a magic wand that can reverse everything. People need to get real and wake up. This isn't what we want, and it is definitely not what we need. I'm not to say what we need or not, but hopefully it should be common sense.
QOTD: I think America wanted a change, because Liberals painted over Americans that Republicans are "fascist pigs." So what do they do? They vote the Dems in. But what do they find? It's not only NOT better, it's worse! Even people I know voted for Obama, when asked why, they couldn't give a single credible answer. Why he is a symbol of coolness still puzzles me. America made a mistake in 2008. But I believe America won't make that same mistake come November. Pack up, you're fired!
QOTD: yes it was obvious he was a socialist then. They were just brainwashed into thinking he was the coolest thing ever, and didn't know exactly what socialism is or how bad it would be. They just knew it was "change"
QOTD: The american people didn't want socialism, they just didn't want another Republican Bush so they voted democrat....... Now we have a Democrat Bush.
Yes, he was. He admitted that The Great Charlatan is a Socialist. This is a point which many have been making for 2 years, and also many have been denying and/or trying to hide. Take care.
@GammaSigmaBeta I will have a nice day, since I live in Europe... oh snap and what happens is that en contraire to what you just said Europe is far from a mess except for the mess America got us in last year... but anyways, in terms of "knowing things" clearly I know more about America than you do about Europe. socialism in Europe hasn't failed its people in over 100 years, capitalism has failed us a number of times over the past century.
@Subher0 And if you don't agree with that I suggest visiting your local library to read up on your history. I don't know where you get it from that Europe is in a "mess" but I bet Fox news has something to do with it.
I am aware that you are in Europe. I looked at your channel, before I posted. That's why I commented thusly. And, for that very reason, no one gives a rat's ass what you think about American politics. You obviously know little to nothing about the USA, only what you are fed by mainstream media types-all Leftists. I don't need a Eurosocialist lecturing me about things about which they are ignorant. Find a dictionary-use it-socialism. Your fatuous comment about Fox is amusing.
@GammaSigmaBeta Funny you'd say that of somebody BORN AND RAISED in the us. And people care about mine as much as they do yours. The only difference is mine is actually fact based whereas yours is political wannabe right wing. Talking about mainstream media, if there is any fucked up media it's in America... not on the other side of the water.
I've met up and person with both sides and I think it's clear what I believe is best for the people that live the system.
I'm not your friend, and I don't "run along". You are the one who attacked me, remember?
If you don't care for repartee, then keep your mouth shut. Did you expect that, as per the usual Leftist modus operandi, you could, with a "drive-by" insult, post and not be answered?
And if you think that America is so fucked up, media or otherwise, why do you interject yourself into matters which don't concern you?
@GammaSigmaBeta I did not attack anyone. If you consider my post as an attack, then I suggest you seek out what your problem is instead of shoving it off at me. As if there is a "leftist modus operandi" I bet you missed the right wing train of constant lies and deceit. I'm not saying for instance democrats have a full clean sheet, but the sheer constant deceitfullness and grief tactics of the right in America is stunning and even more stunning you don't pick up on it.
@GammaSigmaBeta This does not relay a direct point to the arguments used by the right in terms of ways of politics, but it does show what kind of people it takes to get their point across, demonizing the other side.Picture I try to convince of my argument by telling you a lie that pushes you in the direction of believing my argument. That doesn't say anything about the argument itself, but it would say something about the kind of person I am.
@GammaSigmaBeta Matters that do not concern me? I think the crisis concerned me, and it started in America. America is still in many ways the most single powerfull nation in the world... yes it DOES concern me not to mention even the fact I have a double nationality and many family members live in America. So before you talk you should think.
I have been reading this thread, and you certainly appear to be unhinged. I've seen nothing but condescending sarcasm-read insults- from you. Evidently, you don't tolerate disagreement well. You need to grow up.
@SubjunctiveMode It's sad you can't face reality. I don't consider my posts condescending though I agree I am a say it like it is kind of guy. If you can't enter the debate without saying other than "you appear to be unhinged" then please by all means fuck off because you're not being contributive but just down right insulting, which gives me the right to do so too towards you.
I tolerate disagreement, but not without proof. True.
What reality is that you dream I am not facing? Yes, you are desperately condescending, and it isn't necessary to be so, in order to "tell it like it is". Also, I have nothing further to say to your kind, who feel it necessary to employ profanity. Why would anyone want to engage you in debate, when that is how you react to disagreement? I shall not comment no further to you. I don't participate in such filth.
@SubjunctiveMode "Your kind"? And I'm the one being condescending? When you use it it's just a hollow word you use trying to shut up anyone who disagrees with you.
I haven't used any profanity and in all honesty you're the one who should be shunned for even speaking out the way you do... calling me filth... I pity you.
Oh, I see. I should be shunned "for speaking out"? You don't believe in freedom of speech? How nice. Additionally, you told me to "fuck off", so I'd say that's filth. Do you use profanity so much that you don't even remember when you do? Go back and read your own post. Also, I didn't call you filth. I said I don't participate in such filth, had you read my post. comprehensively. Please don't psychologically project your own habits upon myself. Have a nice day.
@SubjunctiveMode Sure I do, but not hate speech as you displayed in your previous comment, that I am "filth" f.e.. Just merely saying to fuck off is not profanity, I'm not calling you names or saying you're "filth" and being shunned is not restricting your freedom of speech. Look up shun in the dictionary: you can say whatever you like, but we are not obliged to listen... that's shunning you.
If you consider my post profane, then I suggest you grow up and grow yourself a psychological shield...
@SubjunctiveMode Because in a free society, some people use words you might not like to hear. I have the right to say those things, as long as I don't do hate speech and I haven't.
PS a nice day is always first on the list for me mr. I'm-so-frustrated-by-your-comments
It is a failure , and subjecting America to socialism is going to end the prosperity of the country of America. The prosperity of America was built on the free market economy , not socialism...
QOTD: Al Sharpton is right, the American people were scared and misinformed. They felt the country was broken, so the majority voted for reform of the entire country. These are the causes for Nazi Germany and Marxist-Leninist Soviet Union...the list goes on. When people are scared they make dumb choices; sad but true

Well good job Sharpton, you made it sound like the Obama administration made chumps out of the voters. Let's see if America falls for his b.s. again.

Yeah You did vote for socialism! Go USSA comrade!
Have you checked out the bill the IRS is going to be the new Gestapo.

YES people voted for socialism. Did they know they voted forsocialism I have NO idea ask them.
If they dd not know they were voting for socialism they probably should not vote again until they get themselves educated

of course they didn't...
no one seems to remember the overwhelming black population that showed up at the polls that election...
and all those white democrats who wanted to be a part of elected the U.S.'s first black president...as a way of not being racist

About what?

@GammaSigmaBeta
Al Sharpton was honest about Obama.
bigun89 1 year ago
Yes, he was. He admitted that The Great Charlatan is a Socialist. This is a point which many have been making for 2 years, and also many have been denying and/or trying to hide. Take care.
GammaSigmaBeta 1 year ago 2
@GammaSigmaBeta Why are you talking as if socialism is a bad thing? It's a good thing.
Subher0 1 year ago
@Subher0
Sorry, but you are delusional and completely out of touch with America. You haven't been paying attention at all for the past year, evidently.
And, yes, socialism is a bad thing. Look at the mess Europe is in.
Have a nice day. Good bye.
GammaSigmaBeta 1 year ago
@GammaSigmaBeta I will have a nice day, since I live in Europe... oh snap and what happens is that en contraire to what you just said Europe is far from a mess except for the mess America got us in last year... but anyways, in terms of "knowing things" clearly I know more about America than you do about Europe. socialism in Europe hasn't failed its people in over 100 years, capitalism has failed us a number of times over the past century.
Subher0 1 year ago
@Subher0 And if you don't agree with that I suggest visiting your local library to read up on your history. I don't know where you get it from that Europe is in a "mess" but I bet Fox news has something to do with it.
Subher0 1 year ago
@Subher0
GammaSigmaBeta 1 year ago
@GammaSigmaBeta Funny you'd say that of somebody BORN AND RAISED in the us. And people care about mine as much as they do yours. The only difference is mine is actually fact based whereas yours is political wannabe right wing. Talking about mainstream media, if there is any fucked up media it's in America... not on the other side of the water.
I've met up and person with both sides and I think it's clear what I believe is best for the people that live the system.
Run along friend.
Subher0 1 year ago
@Subher0
You are not worth any further comment. Good bye.
GammaSigmaBeta 1 year ago
@GammaSigmaBeta I did not attack anyone. If you consider my post as an attack, then I suggest you seek out what your problem is instead of shoving it off at me. As if there is a "leftist modus operandi" I bet you missed the right wing train of constant lies and deceit. I'm not saying for instance democrats have a full clean sheet, but the sheer constant deceitfullness and grief tactics of the right in America is stunning and even more stunning you don't pick up on it.
Subher0 1 year ago
@GammaSigmaBeta This does not relay a direct point to the arguments used by the right in terms of ways of politics, but it does show what kind of people it takes to get their point across, demonizing the other side.Picture I try to convince of my argument by telling you a lie that pushes you in the direction of believing my argument. That doesn't say anything about the argument itself, but it would say something about the kind of person I am.
Now let it sink in.
Subher0 1 year ago
@GammaSigmaBeta Matters that do not concern me? I think the crisis concerned me, and it started in America. America is still in many ways the most single powerfull nation in the world... yes it DOES concern me not to mention even the fact I have a double nationality and many family members live in America. So before you talk you should think.
Subher0 1 year ago
@Subher0
I have been reading this thread, and you certainly appear to be unhinged. I've seen nothing but condescending sarcasm-read insults- from you. Evidently, you don't tolerate disagreement well. You need to grow up.
SubjunctiveMode 1 year ago
@SubjunctiveMode It's sad you can't face reality. I don't consider my posts condescending though I agree I am a say it like it is kind of guy. If you can't enter the debate without saying other than "you appear to be unhinged" then please by all means fuck off because you're not being contributive but just down right insulting, which gives me the right to do so too towards you.
I tolerate disagreement, but not without proof. True.
Subher0 1 year ago
@Subher0
SubjunctiveMode 1 year ago
@SubjunctiveMode "Your kind"? And I'm the one being condescending? When you use it it's just a hollow word you use trying to shut up anyone who disagrees with you.
I haven't used any profanity and in all honesty you're the one who should be shunned for even speaking out the way you do... calling me filth... I pity you.
Subher0 1 year ago
@Subher0
SubjunctiveMode 1 year ago
@SubjunctiveMode Sure I do, but not hate speech as you displayed in your previous comment, that I am "filth" f.e.. Just merely saying to fuck off is not profanity, I'm not calling you names or saying you're "filth" and being shunned is not restricting your freedom of speech. Look up shun in the dictionary: you can say whatever you like, but we are not obliged to listen... that's shunning you.
If you consider my post profane, then I suggest you grow up and grow yourself a psychological shield...
Subher0 1 year ago
@SubjunctiveMode Because in a free society, some people use words you might not like to hear. I have the right to say those things, as long as I don't do hate speech and I haven't.
PS a nice day is always first on the list for me mr. I'm-so-frustrated-by-your-comments

No, he said then we'd have to say the people voted for socialism. He did not say he was a socialist.

F*ck socialism.
