  • why not paddle in?

  • @tubeneophyte Because we were caught in a rip tide and after we lost the first board we didnt have enough coordination to paddle in on 1 board. And not to mention we were over a hundred yards out at the waves were 13 feet at 9 seconds...

  • @seechrisrun024 Understandable, caught in a rip in windy short period, steep 13ft @ 9 seconds waves with one of two without a board would be ugly. Nice of he with a board to have stuck around aiding friend with the floatation. And for he with a board the desire to paddle in likely quickly evaporated once helicopter = safer way home was above.

  • good stuff

  • The other kid still in the ocean on the boogie board is my brother. His rescue was amazing, too bad they did not show that one also.

  • I have great respect for coast guard swimmers. especially after seeing that movie The Guardian

  • Great job !
