This video actually helped me deciding to buy the FX 401 about 2 years ago, and I didn't regret it a single minute. It's really an absolutely amazing guitar, fantastic tone and feel.

@electroneticTV they already have a factory in china, but dont be alarmed, any guitar from ESP is made in korea or indonesia after a certain number in its series :) so that basically means that if you dont want a shitty chinese made guitar :P you have to buy a better and thus more expensive guitar :)

@JollethecrazY the 401 comes with grover tuners, an eravana compensated nut, and EMGs, and the 360 comes with ESP tuners, a standard(plastic) nut, and ESP pickups with a coil tap.

mrtrump Hey, EMG pickups are the best pickups ever, (to me), the EMG 60 (neck) brings a very good clean sound, and some solos with distortion, the 81 (bridge) it's perfect for distortion. Rob want's to change them because it's not the pickups and the sound that he's looking for, and maybe he have another sponsor for the pickups, so, if you play metal it's perfect, if you don't try to check out ESP LTD version of the stratocaster

@RikJamezBich knowing that Rob will most likely see your comment I'll help you :D! I'd rull out Music Man straight away because I don't like the look of them (unless you do, then rull it back in because they sound awesome) but I'd say it's between Schecter and ESP. I've been an ESP man for many years and have loved them so much including the LTD's. I'd go for an ESP LTD because you have a lot of variety and great affordable value guitars that sound awesome. personally I'd go for an EX or an FX.

@rockitsnotdead The ESP/LTDs come with active EMG PUs, while the Gibsons mostly come with various Gibson passive humbuckers. Both sound good - the EMGs are very tight and aggressive sounding, very metal. The Gibsons are a bit more vintage and a little more "natural". Main difference between EX and FX is the neck wood (maple resp. mahogany/palisander = rather brilliant sounding / full bassy tone). The Gibsons have mahogany necks. The ESPs are a modern take on the classic explorer design.

@Italianvet man i have this axe (the ESP LTD MH-350NT) and it is awesome, the neck is thin, like regular ibanez necks, and the top is rounded so this is a very comfortable guitar and it have a fast neck, but it may be a matter for you, the neck is varnished...

@chimairakickass the neck is a little thinner on the RG models if that's what you were refering to. The neck on my MH400 is fatter than the RG321MH neck I have which runs through most of the RG series guitars.

Hey Rob, since the FX401 SM is kind of discontinued (afaik) I was thinking about getting a FX360 SM instead. My retailer just stated, the FX360 is the official replacement for the FX401 and should have the same features and stuff.

Hey question for you Rob, I bought an Orange Rockerverb 50 a couple months ago. When I the gain past 12 o'clock the amp is really noisy. I know amps generate SOME noise, but I didn't think it would be this noisy. If I turn the gain all the way up, it's hissing pretty loud. When I'm at a volume to play with my drummer, I keep the gain at around 1 o"clock to keep the hiss down, but it's not quite enough gain. if I turn it up past that it hisses a LOT. Does your Orange do this? Is mine defective?
