This was taken on an Olympus SP510UZ. I've had a great run with Olympus UltraZoom cameras, they're perfect for this kind of thing, 10x optical zoom while still being compact-ish, very robust, and great battery life (4xAA). The movs are hard to edit, but are great quality for a still camera. You can get far better compact cams these days, usually for a price, though I did get a pocket Fuji A850 on special, similar specs to the SP510, only 3x zoom. Check out my Flickr photos to get a better idea.
Thats excellent, thanks for the info. My digital camera is perfect for photography, just rubbish for videos! I will check out the ones you suggested, and have a look at your flickr site - check mine out too if you get a chance!

@thekiwicanuck Do you know what kind of sirens these trucks use? I'm very fond of it.

Just wondering if the fire service will be getting more of these Chris? or would the likes of 205 and 215 be replaced by the "Type 4" Scania HEM's?

No idea mate, I wish I knew, heaps of people have been asking me that, LOL!
Which 215 are you referring to?
thekiwicanuck 2 years ago
Wellington 215 - I was thinking, when it gets decommissioned, they need to preserve it, since it's a one-off appliance.
lecou18 2 years ago
Absolutely!
Though I think it should be restored to its original livery etc. Looks a bit anachronistic with reflective graphics and LEDs everywhere.

Great video as usual, what camera are you using? I am looking to invest in something better.

Great vid. I really like the look of the Econic. Definitely one of the sharpest looking fire engines in existence IMO.
