I have both of these, both are truly wonderful dogs. Akita is more protectful and the malamute is more playful, both really compliment each other.

From watching my own akita grow up and seeing other akitas online I've noticed that many of the movements and behaviors of akitas are nearly identical. I thought I had a quirky pooch since I grew up with the more common breeds. But after all of the akita vids I've seen I think it's genetic.

Play can be a lot of fun for young dogs, but it is a fine line that sometimes leads to aggression as adults. Just make sure they always leave as friends. Great video!
