Just traded my 2007 for a 2011. Looks great BUT too many things standard on the previous generation were deleted to make up the costs of the things added to the 2011, dual auto up/down windows gone, cargo cover is now a $209 OPTION (NOT listed on the Scion website), interior storage cubbies are gone, sunroof doesn't open as far as there's a serious power lag (with auto). If the dealer won't take it back in trade, it's for sale with 40 miles.
@terry46619 Wow, so you're sad about losing dual one touch power windows buttons. Let's see, the 2011 gives you a larger more powerful engine that uses less gas. It's a dual VVTI motor that responds better to tuning than the old tC. You also get a 6spd transmission, traction/stability control, 18" alloys and a better audio system. Not to mention the new tC handles BETTER.
Btw, the cargo cover comes STANDARD. You can't buy it as an option. If you're going to LIE, do a better job.
@dougdangger It also has a higher price tag, cheaper interior quality, extremely stiff suspension resulting in a harsh ride, cheap a/c controls. But I agree with you, it does offer much more than the out going model as far as mechanical equipment improvements. I used to own a 2006 and although the ride quality was comfortable, there were lots of rattles and squeaks after 25k miles on it. Even if the interior feels cheap, if it doesn't rattle as much as before, I would def accept the trade off.
@dougdangger Actually, ignore the previous reply I posted. I went yesterday to the dealer to test drive the Camry SE & since I didn't like it and did not even looked at the 2011 Scion TC, my wife actually liked the Scion TC, we drove it and bought it that same day. The car rides so different than the previous model. Is actually lower with bigger wheels, but it actually feels way smoother and although the ride is firm, it feels soft and very smooth. The 6 speed is way smoother than before too.
@imacbing Well, ones a hatch back that is bigger in space and other is a coupe. It depends on your needs or wants. Are you going to haul people or stuff a lot (go Mazda), if not as much or you're the only sole driver most of the time go tC. The tC offers more bang for your buck but it depends on your budget as well. Do you want practicality of a 5-door hatch or a coupe. yes I know the tC has a decent cargo area but nothing like a Mazda3 5-door hatch. Good luck!
2.5 liters and just 180 bhp ? WTF vw scirocco has 2.0 liters with 256 bhp... oh, i forgot you're americans
