I am not a UCLA student and just stumbled across your video. Several years ago I decided as a personal experiment to apply some of the techniques you discuss, like keeping a gratitude journal and setting my intentions at the start of the day, to see if my life would improve. I have been amazed by the results. Simply changing the way I think has dramatically improved my life. There is great power in knowing that Happiness is a choice!
What we're all after in life is the emotional fulfillment we believe we'll get from accomplishing specific actions. If we concentrate on the feeling of that (how would that feel to accomplish?) My god, hold that feeling for a little bit and then when you're out and about noticing the good qualities of even the worst disliked aspect of any given moment of your life and you will know happiness like no other, I promise you. True happiness has countless personal, social, & metaphysical affects.
thanks for the work you do. Everything helps and everything hurts; thank you for working for the positive side. Its not rocket science and you are helping to dispell the myth. love
I saw only one foot under the table. I wonder if she lost a leg in the accident. I will practice what she recommended for her students and give it 3 weeks and see what change it might have on my happiness----although I think I'm already happy. We can all be just a little happier, I guess.
Congratulations on a wonderful initiative and facilitated by a warm and insightful woman.

Is this a joke? I can't tell if this is a serious subject or not. They now teach common sense?

Oh, a "your mama" reply, how original and clever. Guess you're a product of that fine UCLA education.
