  • We Christians handed over schooling to the state. Then we began complaining about the state did with education. We gave social services to the state and then complained about how and who the state helped. Next we handed over marriage to the state. Now we're complaining about what the state is doing with it. We need to take responsibility for our own decisions. We handed everything over to the state because the church at large has become gluttenous and lazy.

  • I highly recommend the book "N.E.A. Trojan Horse in American Education" to learn how public schools started and WHY they started.

  • Well., about the only thing I like about this is the music :)

  • Children who go to school often only have friends who are in their grade. But the homeschooled kids i know have friends who are all ages. Also in school there a cliques so kids are friends with ppl who are just like them and have the same interests. But the homeschoolers often have friends with all different interests.

  • not all homeschoolers "pump children with religious indoctrination". Some are atheists or agnostics. Besides, why should it matter if someone wants to teach their children their religion? It's their beliefs so shouldn't they have the right to pass them on to their own children?

  • The state is is a corporation. They don't want to teach your kids anything except how to worship them. Pretty sad we all got tricked into following our enemy.

  • True. We are only responsible to The Most High. Each of us will be answerable as to what we did with what He gave us. Thank you for posting this video. How encouraging. How refreshing - like a spring in the desert. Well done for puting this all together. We live to give Him glory. xxx

  • What a wonderful video. Schools first came about to teach / learn children to read so they can read GOD'S word the holy bible, but in today's world they've taken that out, causing demoralization and peer pressure to fit in with the crowd. Individual thinking inspired by a good mind set, surrounded by people, family and friends who's morals are set on GOD'S word will develop the right attitude and character for our children. That's what the worlds missing! GOD BLESS EVERYONE

  • while i dont agree that the education system is the best, homeschooling is not the answer if it is just going to be used as a tool to pump children with religious indoctrination. kids should leanr wide persepective and learn form people who have expertise and degreees on the subjects, not from paranoid parents to scared to let their kids leave the nest.

  • I am in 9th grade, and this is my third year homeschooling. Homeschooling has brough my family together even more and has brought us closer to God. I now use my talents for God, as He intended. I have written and given a sermon to over 300 people, I have started singing in church, I am very involved in my youth group.

  • sorry i meant to say i am "now" using my talents for God

  • i love this video. i am in 9th grade, and im homeschooled. and i believe that because I am homeschooled, I dont judge myself like I did when I was in public school. This is my third year as a homeschooler, and not only have I grown stronger in my faith, and my family has grown stronger, but I have written and given a sermon to about 300 people, I have started singing in church, and I am very involved in my United Methodist Youth Group. I am not using my talents for God, like he intended.

  • Beautiful! Thank you for presenting this with the spirit of God!

  • i support unschooling. whether it's you forcing your kids to do things, or a school forcing your kids to do things, it practically the same thing

  • Beautiful video.

  • It takes a village...?

I always wondered about that. What if everyone in the village is crazy?

  • my son was socially awkward in his school, i've had him out for a year and he's less anxious and more confident in social situations now than he's ever been

  • Absolutely beautiful and INSPIRING! (((((HUGS))))) sandi

  • This is a wonderful video!! And as for social awkardness...my husband and I went to school, and our homeschooled children have 3 times the friends we had at their respective ages. Not only that, but they have older friends and younger friends, friends with varying interests, and can hold a conversation with a grownup. Plus, they love to learn...we don't have to force it.

  • This is beautiful....and very true. Our state wants my children to learn about drugs & alcohol in 4th grade!!! Why expose them to this at this age when they don't HAVE to be exposed like I was as a child...for the previous comment "homeschoolers are 'different' socially" By different you mean not like the materialistic, cussing, promiscuous, sarcastic no respect for anyone valley girls & boys or wanna-be gangstas that are in mostpublic schools? Yes! they are refreshingly different..Thank God!!!!

  • People who toss out the socialization card know they have no logical point against homeschooling. Don't waste your time on them. As long as your child isn't on drugs, using porno, and pregnant at 16, they won't be "normal". It's great!

  • what is the music played in the background (name & composer)

  • A good reminder of why many are choosing to homeschool! It's hard to argue with these facts and images....

  • People who are homeschooled for a long time seem socially awkward. It's because they aren't around others so they act differently. this isn't really a bad thing it's just... different. You could always send them to private school...or not if you can't afford it.

  • I wish you could meet our grown children - or the one we still have at home. Our oldest has a master's in nursing and is a charge nurse in a busy ER, the next is a wife and mom, childbirth educator, self-taught signer, freelance graphic designer (BA in it), and more; oldest son is an MP, Iraq vet, recruiter with HUGE performance records - a tremendous "people person" - they all are. Youngest is 14, a soccer player, RevWar reenactor who is praised for manners, mature behavior, and ease w/ adults.

  • Children learn from their parents, if their parents are socially well adapted it is likely, the child(ren) will be.... I am a social butterfly and each of my homeschooled children love to interact with both adults and children. My kids are involved in 4-H, take homeschool classes at local libraries and participate in sports & recreation programs in addition to church and scouts. Thanks for the video - Kudos!

  • That was a beautiful video. Thank you!

  • This is beautiful.

  • "Let not their souls be pierced, seared, and desensitized." That sums up what is wrong with most children in the youth culture of America. Great video!

  • i was homeschooled almost my whole life and i HATED to interact with others for years! it also turned me into a wimp as i became more of a momma's boy. if you are religious it is STUPID to think you are taking them away from "the world" cuz the more you shelter em the more curious they will become and i guarantee they will turn the opposite. i did. i know many other christian homeschoolers that live in prison now including my brother. 12 years for him so far. there's no reason at all to do it!

  • Wow it's crazy reading people's comments. All homeschoolers are not religious, all homeschoolers don't think school is a bad place. We all homeschool for different reasons. I think it's bad to generalize homeschoolers whether its the "homeschoolers are not socialized" comment to the "homeschoolers are super smart and so advanced". Every homeschooling family is different.

  • My husband is a pubic school teacher for 22 years. In most cases the kid's problems start at home. Don't blame the public school system.Home schooling is a way for Christains to remove themself from outside influences, also removes us from those who need to learn Jesus's love. The bible says be in this world not of it. Each family must do what they feel is best for their child but don't blame the public school system it all begins at home.

  • not entirely true, how many loving children mix with the wrong crowd and change. not all problems begin in the home. my daughter is no way going to public school, and i am NOT religious. i am responsible for my daughter and wont offload her into one of the many government training camps like a sheep. it isnt only christians who home school, or are you a religionist

  • I taught in the public schools for 12 years. My advice to parents with children there is to do anything they can to get their children out of the least successful education system in the country. Public schools treat children as a number and kill the natural love of learn at an early age. I know what I am talking about, I was there. I am now home schooling my son.

  • Not true.

    ~From an ATHEIST homeschooler.

  • I am homeschooling my boys. My 2 oldest have Autism, and the public school was a place where they were mocked and tormented. They were told they were not good enough, because they are different. The school did nothing to teach neurotypical kids tolerance and acceptance of "special needs" kids. It's expected that our children learn about "alternative" (ungodly) lifestyles, yet our Christian children must not speak up for their beliefs? Great video!

  • HS's are actually more prepared in the 'real world' because they can work with and around people of all ages instead of just there peer group. They don't have the pressures to 'be cool" and be like the crowd. I went to public school and had alot of bad interactions with other kids, it did NOT add any value to my life whatsoever! I am longer fooled into thinking that my children need public ed to function! God Bless You!

  • This was a wonderful video! I noticed that some other comments think that homeschoolers are stuck in the house with family all day, but that is simply not true. HS's interact with other children as much as public schooled children, through library time, gym meets, science demos and field trips. I have meet more moms in one year than I did the six years my son was in public ed.

  • This is all the reasons that we homeschool! What a thought provoking video! Thank you for making it! God Bless!

  • Does this video not bother anyone at all? First of all, she bad-talked tolerance! Without tolerance, there can be no peace. Did she ever stop to think that people who live in this country of different nationalities and religions have to learn to be tolerant toward Christians? This country was built on "Freedom of Religion," which is partly why we have such a diverse population.

That was only one of the things in this video that bothered me, though. Anyone care to agree or disagree?

  • I love the reason that many people choose to homeschool, to be closer to their children and to guide them in the way they feel is best in the world. I do not however, believe that fearmongering about public school is beneficial nor is the teaching of intolerance. Homeschoolers would do well to remember that not all homeschoolers are religious either. Everyone has the same goal, we all want what is best for our children, whether homeschooling is the path we choose or not.

  • Telling the truth is not fearmongering.I think you overlooking this

  • I agree. Not all homeschoolers are out to protect their children from the so-called "evils" of tolerance. But I will agree with this video that public schooling is a form of social control. Compulsory education was creating during the industrial revolution as a means for creating "good" workers and loyal consumers.

  • as a homeschooling mom with 5 children(so far) and including one autistic child... I was so encouraged by this video. I really needed that positive reminder that we really are doing the best for our family!!

  • Love this! I posted it on my Blog! I have been trying to tell people why he Homeschool for the past 14 years! This says it so eloquently! Thanks!

  • This video was so beautiful, and well worded. I would like to thank the person who made it for re affirming that I'm doing the right thing by not sending my baby girl to public school. She's only four and a half, and has the most beautiful heart, I want her to stay that way always. Public school would only destroy that. God Bless all you homeschool parents out there.

  • nice video...well done!

vote for Ron Paul to keep your rights to homeschool your child!!!

Ron Paul, "The Champion of the Constitution!"

  • Wonderful! Thank you for putting this together.

  • We homeschool our children here in Australia. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for this encouraging video.

  • Amen! We home schooled our two daughters from K-12!! I'm so blessed to have had this relationship, teaching and growing time with them as now they are on their own!

  • This is very impressive. I am so humbled by the dedication and work home school families are putting into their children. I think our future relies on home schooled kids. I hope one day I can contribute to this effort through my ability to teach about the Lord with art.

  • A good reminder of why many are choosing to homeschool! It's hard to argue with these facts and images....

  • Love your video! Sent it to all my family members. Keep up the great work. You are our favorite source for encouragement, save God's Word!

  • This was well done. I will pass this on and pray that it encourages others to join the homeschool community. We need many more homeschool children, so our country will have a future that is bright. Thank you for the hard work in putting this together and thank you for sharing it. A proud homeschool mom of four.

  • What a beautiful way to spread the good news of "education outside the box." Tender, touching, compelling, truth-bearing - thank you!

    <>< Kelly

  • a shot of encouragement when i needed it the most. isn't that just how our Daddy God works in our lives? he knows what we need when we need it the most. thank you for such a beautiful reminder of why i homeschool.

  • an encouragement just when I needed it the most. How awesome this is.

  • Great job! Thank you for your faithful support of homeschooling! I'm glad we still have the freedom to speak out like this. However, the Hate Crimes bill, H.R. 254 could take away your freedom to express your thoughts - afterall, someone might feel "threatened". We must be vigilant to protect our right to free speech!

  • Well said. And by the way, homeschooled kids outperform both private and public schooled kids on the standardized tests which the public schools now teach to. Homeschooled kids have been proven to be generally very well socialized and go on to be productive and well adjusted citizens.

  • I love this I am sending it to all my friends and families. This brought me to tears it validates why why why I homeschool.

  • Great video. I hope it is circulated widely.

  • This is just an awesome encouragement for us that homeschool. We are proud, not prideful of homeschooling and we love it!

    Mothering is a Profession.

  • Awesome!!!

  • If this does not inspire you to homeschool, I don't know what else would!

  • Fantastic commentary and truth!

  • awesome! You always say it perfectly! Wonderful video.

  • Great Video. Good job! To God be the Glory! :D

  • Incredibly powerful!
