I'm talking and subscribing to your vids coz i actually know you hahaha it's Jane ya classmate from Japa205. I'm thinking of applying the jet program for next year aye. OH can you have a vid with japanese speaking in it? has your jap improved? :D hope to hear frm ya soon :)
hisashiburi ne!!! The Jet programme is awesome and you should totally apply for it! :) I'll try and make a Japanese video soon (ish). I feel like my Japanese has improved a little but still it could be WAY better.
Hope everything is going great for you - drop me an e-mail and let me know what you've been up to!
Okay, so I know that I'll be applying some time in December of next year...right? I'll be graduating the following May and ideally would be going shortly after graduation (I think.. maybe I'm making all of this up haha). I know that any degree is fine but I wonder if mine will help at all (I'm double majoring in Sociology and Gender & Women's Studies and have a 3.9GPA). I feel like this is really rambly but I'm really hoping to get into the program :)
@dannylellocreate Ok, intake for Jet is end of July, beginning of August each year depending on where you're coming from and I believe that applications are due in America either November or December of each year (please don't quote me on the one). Any degree is fine as long as you show you're keen to go to Japan and easy going about where you end up.
@dannylellocreate Hey! Yeah I got the video response! :) Thanks for that, my advice for you is to get everything sorted early. I got the previous years application form and sorted out what was required (it doesn't change much) so by the time the application form for my year came out I was ready and able to send it in 2 months before the deadline. Good luck and thanks again for the video :)
I'm a former JET living in California now. I was in Wakayama-ken ( near Osaka) from 1996-98. Yeah, that was ages ago... I didn't have a computer or cell phone, just had a regular camera and had to get my photos developed, etc. Even though I've been back 12 years now, I still volunteer to help new JETs, and I enjoy watching the videos of currents JETs both for nostalgia and so that the advice I offer isn't completely out of date! Have fun over there, Cathy!

Not positive why I initially subscribed, but it probably was because I thought you were cute...sadly.
