In '64 the wheels were for the Grand Prix version only and the 2+2 was a trim option with the buckets and console and fender badges...believe the the 65's may have started to include the go-fast goodies as well..

when you put the 455 in there, did you have to fiddle with the motormounts?

I had a 1960 Starchief 2 DR sedan 389 Tri-Power. I wish i had it now

The oringinal 389 probably had more power but had to use 100 octane leaded fuel. The 455 can run on regular unleaded.

I bought a new 2+2 off the Pontiac dealer's showroom floor in 1964.Red ,bucket seats,4-speed,2 barrel 389..would run 15.90's at 90mph in the quater-mile $3800.

@bigbadbronco86 no, that was just a model designation.base was a 389 2 bbl up 421 3 2 bbls 2+2 just gave you fancy interior upgrade
