  • whats the name your microphone?

  • @jess12345678100 It's a Blue Yeti microphone.

  • @jakeanddar its a blue yeti microphone

  • @jess12345678100 its a blue yeti microphone

  • he does talk a lot

  • Hey everyone, how are ya,I do apologize for this video being a big lengthy and I do know it only costs about $10 or so for a factory made one,but I filmed/edited and posted this as sort of a little home project that you can create on your own. The videos intention was more to find stuff lying around the house to create at least a temporary home made pop filter for a stationary microphone, not necessarily to save money. That being said I hope you do find some enjoyment in the video,Cheers

  • @jakeanddar thanks man that shyt helpd me

  • Excellent!

  • good idea using embroidery hoop---we used to use just panty hose piece stretched over a stiff wire frame--does the same thing--ha ha. I think a really good one could be made from silk panty hose stretched over a badminton raquet---it'd work if you could stretch the panty hose enough to go over frame of raquet

  • Part of having an instructional video is showing people the entire process. Cutting out the parts where you are assembling the filter is not very helpful.

  • HE DO TALK TO MUCH..BUT GOOD JOB

  • i like this guy and enjoyed watching this video :D

  • dude its kinda funny that u spent 8 minutes making a 5 dollar pop filter when u coulda walked into walmart or bestbuy and get one for 5 dollars

  • @YoungShane2011 what walmart are u talking about.. pop filters dont cost no $5.00 try 20 on up

  • Where can I get the Embroidery rings? and Where can I get the copper wire?

  • @BIGdaddyySmurf yeah, where can we buy that embroidery ring ? coper wire is just a holder buddy.. hahaha i don't nid dat... ^^ peace !

  • Great vid! thanks!

  • can you send me your unused nylon, lol, thanks for tricks

  • I like this video. I watched another one and the stuff they used was hard to find. I wish you could have used the mic so we could hear the difference with it and without it. Can you post one? Please. :)

  • dude u did good job very inexpensive ... but u might have been abel to cut it down a bit more. ovr all i enjoyed the vid thanks man.

  • great vid this is persfect!!!!

  • Nice good stuff man

  • who heard sirens at 3.28

  • you guys are assholes, he wants to help us out, and we came for help. geez, ungrateful shitheads

  • @andyyroxx We are not being ungrateful, but we surely can be a little critical, can't we? I mean if you didn't like the comments, there always was the option of not viewing them or replying back. Video could have been cut to be a little less. But thanks for this, uploader, help it does.

  • @whoddaya Hey,how are ya? Ya,I don't mind constructive criticism, but some people have to keep in mind I'm only an amateur video maker,no professfionlaity claimed here,LOL and this video is only a simple homemade project,I know it only costs about $15 for a factory made one,but it was fun making it. One more thing for any of you that don't make videos is,the time moves much quicker on the other side of the camera! Yes,this could've been a little shorter, however for the most part I do try, cheers!

  • @whoddaya I didn't say you couldn't be critical. However with the complaining going on about his giving of advice to others seemed a tad unnecessary. His purpose was to save your money, not time (although easily it could have been done). I was not focusing the comment solely on you, hence you did not have to respond to me either, if you did not appreciate my comment. Yes, there was that option, but clearly I did not take it. You did not have to criticize him, did you? I was just stating a point.

  • @andyyroxx Understandable and I appreciate what your where trying to get across,Cheers!

  • @jakeanddar Thank you very much for the video, sir. You've helped many of my friends (I needed to show them a video on how to do this and I chose yours as the best exemplar, due to your great explanation of the whole process, and a step by step procedure.)

    Once again, thank you!

  • I have that same microphone ! I made my own pop filter this way too a while a go, but I must admit mine looked a little better. Later on a bought a real metal one and I paid 50 effing dollars at Guitar Center ! Once piece of advice, don't ever go buying recording gear with your girlfriend, you'll over pay things and then you won't even know what the heck just happened ! Girls just don't have enough patience.

  • People need to stop complaining, he's providing you with a good video on how to do something you didn't know, so either shut up and watch, or use the nifty little feature and skip ahead to where you want to be.

  • just buy an embroidery hoop and keep pull the nylon over the hoop, to your liking of course, that what i did for my studio and litteraly there are no hard sounds.......but this is cool to, not tryna diss or anything :D nice vid bro

  • I saw the things you used and that was good enough for me, haha, so, good video I guess? ha, peace

  • Mhehahahahaahahaahahaha - anyways :D xD i loled my ass off mate ! thank you for that!

  • I just bought a pop filter which works very good but costed me 20$. I should have seen this video before that. Good work thank you. I will make these for my friends now.

  • whats the ring called

  • I don't know why people complain about the video length, I adored you, you made it entertaining and informative, and made me even laugh! Thanks so much!

  • Thanks so much you saved me a lot of money buying a mic with a pop filter included!

  • Thanks bro for making this video and don't let others put you down with their bitching Great job and thanks for stepping up and making the video

  • I have done it with a can, if you have any thick foam you can cut into a circle for the back and a hole to put the microphone in. On the front put the black stockings and use sticky tape and or rubberbands as well if you can find ones big enough. I mainly used duct tape. It worked pretty well. Just another idea. Much more fun making your own anyway :)

  • Thanks for the video, I'll probably be constructing one of these.

Once I'm doing duct taping my boom stand back together anyway.

  • Yea he talked alot but honestly this was the best looking diy pop filter ive seen so far on youtube, GOOD JOB

  • Can all you people stop commenting the fact, that it is 8 min long! He talks about important stuff! Just kidding.. seriously 8 Fuckin MINUTES LONG and its just bullshit!!!

  • man ont listen to this haters you did a cool job and for cheap

  • im not gonna complain about how long this video is. but foreal.... you can buy a 10 dollar pop filter off ebay.... 5 more dollars for the real deal

  • This is Jake from StartFarm!

  • ppl should stop bitching about you talking so much in this video, you still helped me out. thnx man!!!

  • where can i buy that wood thingy, and were can i buy it?

  • okay easiest way = steal moms pantyhose... cut a circle out of it place it in ring object around you found around your house... boom free but mom might be suspicous

  • or you can buy one for 10 or 15 lol that will last

  • i'll try to do this...ive been begging my dad for a filter..but..now i think i can stop the whining about it...thank you...xD

  • best idea for a home made pop filter I have seen by far , good job buddy I will use this idea for sure

  • si escribes tan bien el español por que no hiciste el vídeo en un buen español???????

o sera que no es tuyo??

  • I just use my moms sewing kit and two pieces of dryer sheets

  • I used a wire hanger and some nylon stockings.

  • dame not to be like this but dame we are really poor lol but hopefully are dreams come true peace.

  • evil laf @ 1:27

  • hey jake

  • thanks you ^^

  • Wife: Honey, have you seen the pantyhose I bought today?

    Jake: have no idea

  • this is smart. Thanks man. I wish you tested it, though. Oh well.

  • Well why cant you go up to like guitar center and get one for 15 dollars and not fish for stuff

  • I like the video, thanks for posting it :)

  • thankss nice idea

  • dude... you talk alot of nonsense ... i just wasted my life watching this sHtyui video! f^&)(!

  • @DanceDynastyOFFICIAL Don't ever drive,I hate to hear you wine at how much time you spend waiting at red lights, but thanks for watching!

  • @jakeanddar CORN !

  • @DanceDynastyOFFICIAL thats mean

  • Grab a really thin piece of sheet metal, and drill 100 small 1/8" holes in it, paint it whatever color you would like, don't look like a weirdo buying nylons for your "wife or girlfriend" and you have a filter that is washable, cheaper, and less time consuming.

  • @ShallowGroundDrummer That would drown and flatten you vocals out,bad idea!!!

  • Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy one on Ebay than driving to the store burning gas and time to save 5 bucks?

  • This video it literally 7 minutes too long. *PLEASE* cut back on the talking and cut to the point. Thumbs down.

  • @carryoutjon OMG,seriously of all the other things in life you complain about you really have to complain about about an 8 minute video. I think you need to get a life!!! THANX 4 WATCHING!!!

  • @jakeanddar how can we get a life when you fucking up our 7 minutes

  • @jakeanddar What does get a life mean, good sir? Enlighten me.

  • @carryoutjon I sorry, but at least he took the time and effort to share his knowledge. DID u know how to make a pop filter like the one he made? no? yeah, i thought so...otherwise u wouldnt be here? Thumbs up !

  • Please AWNSER! How much for the embroidering wooden ring on average?

  • @MrTochigui just a few dollars!

  • @RadhyaHolzken Better if you use something stretchy!

  • 8 minutes? Really? This video could have been over at two minutes, ... tops!!! I hate when people love to hear themselves talk forever. Good grief!!

  • @jonathanelectronica you can see how long it was before you clicked on so why did you click on it? Thanks 4 watching!

  • A pop filter isn't used to protect a microphone, it is used to filter noises your mouth makes when you talk like the say "pop's , and tics, and when using a pop filter is should be about 6 inches away from the make in most situations and the foam thing you where talking about is called a wind break and that is most commonly used for moisture and stopping the wind from making unwanted noise over a mic in a out door application .

  • @patrick5507 It's used for both reasons, any moisture from you mouth or breath will over time damage the microphone, although some microphones have a built in foam protector underneath the outer grille housing! But you are correct as well,Take Care!

  • I used my socks xD

  • thanks :D

  • NICE

  • ,LOL or LOL

  • I can't believe the size of the cock ring you used to make that pop filter.

  • @thegentlearts If you think that's huge you should see the size of the elephant I had to fight for it! LOL

  • haha, when i read pop filter, i was thinkin about pop, like the drink, because of all your beer vids haha! i was like 'what in the heck is a pop filter?!' then you explained it and i was like 'oh... haha'

    rofl, take care bud!

  • @analog56x LOL sorry man,I can see how that could confuse someone as these things are really well know! Take r easy!

  • @jakeanddar haha yea, take care bud

  • first
