@TheSonicGod Well, they sound very different compared to each other. One can get used to it (a Swede to Danish, and vice versa), but at first the other language just sounds like gibberish. We also have some words that's different. So: Yes, we could, if we endeavour to. But it's often easier to speak English (which is mandatory in school, in both countries). :)

@TheSonicGod Well, I would say it depends a lot on where in Sweden you are from, and also where the dane is from. The accents vary a lot. Someone from southern Sweden (Skåne) has a lot easier to understand danish than someone from northern parts. Generally, though, you can say that we understand eachother. I, personally have an easier time understanding norwegian. Swedish, danish, norwegian and icelandic all have the same origin and therefore have many similarities.
