The save requirements for the BBE are unlimited, so I just needed to save after acomplishing what I wanted. I would only have to revert back to my most recent save if I had an issue
Yeah I actually had to do the save strategy as well, If I did a stupid mistake or if I knew I was going to die, I would reload my last checkpoint, I wish they would let you load from the pause menu.

You can save whenever you want to. It will just bring you back to the start of that area. You can also pause and buy from drebin. But pausing still counts towards your total time.
you can pause and buy from drebin, its just that the timer doesnt stop. also, when you save, it only saves your status at your last checkpoint. dont expect to save in the middle of an area and come back to that spot when you re-load.

Otacon's voice is a little annoying. PMC stands for "Private Military Company". To explain the rest, would give away parts of the storyline, but if you dont care. Then let me know, and I'll explain them a little.
the 1st frogs u c after Meryl says move....i just get in drum can and roll over them, then stay in the alley then when the others drop down in front of me, i walk up behind them and throw them on the floor
i also put SG on the stairs at 1:12 after Rat Patrol passes 4 the frogs that come from behind & where u put SG at 2:15 i prefer 2 put the other mine in place (the one at 2:19) then when they arrive and get knocked out i use the MG Mk II to go in2 the room where u put the 1st SG and stun evry1 with it, i got to the part where Akiba gets knocked out, without any damage using this method
PS when i did this, i didnt use the drum can, i did same as u
Well, there's a limit to how many items and how much ammo you can hold on each difficulty. It's very little The Boss Extreme. So you go on Liquid easy, and just stock up on a bunch of items and ammo, then after completing the game, load up the completed game and begin on The Boss Extreme, then all of your items will be reduced to the maximum that the difficulty holds.
do this: play through the game. After the fight with mantis, stock up on whatever you'll need. Finish the game, save it, then load another game for your bbe run. If you're gonna buy ammo, do it at the end when you're sure you won't need it for the remainder of the fight.
Yeah, if you don't want a new game, and want to continue off of an earlier playthrough, then you can stock up on all of ammo and items, so you'll be full right off the bat when you go for BBE.
Yes, I reccomend re-loading older saves if you make a big mistake. Always use seperate saves, save basically at every new area you go to, so you can return to any point in the game if need be.
Forgot to add, taking them out at start is easier if you immediately go prone and then make a mad dash to the wall in front of Meryl. For some reason this prompts Johnathan to throw a nade (70% of the time). While still stunned from John's nade roll into that corner and watch them jump in front of you =]
What I do is slightly different from yours, I roll over the staircase to get ahead of Rat Pt, go to 2 of the places you placed mines (kitchen/blocked hall) but I place one right where Meryl is @ 1:21 after Akiba leaves his cover, it will take out 5+ people who try to flank you from behind. =] Hope this helps at all.
Hmm. Didn't post my other comment, but oh well. K, couple things. The 2 playthroughs I did a couple odd things happened. Extra grenades and such were thrown and FROGs weren't dropping or were dropping in different spots. Meryl went blind and got me killed the first time. But the main thing was that the RAT team would freeze sometimes. Had to run around a while to get them to move or to coerce a FROG down. Anyway to make things go smoother for next time or will I have to improvise some each time?
While messing around with Speed Running, I've noticed that if done right, the entire FROG battle goes the exact same everytime. It all depends on which FROGS you eliminate, and where you stand when each group makes it's entrance.
I think there are a couple of ways to do that part. In my newest video I show how I do it, I just stun him with the knife, and then wake him up. It skips the whole scene.
Ya, I just roll into him shortly after he comes down the stairs. I still got knicked once running across, but it skipped everything for the most part there.
I assume it's between 1:50 and 2:30 but I'm not sure because your in a different section. FROGs toss a flash then come from behind and mohawk guy kills everyone but her and then just stands there until he dies. did that make any sense?
I did...three times...every time it flashbangs in, jumps on the cieling, then shoots the mohawk guy. He just stands there and she doesn't come down...Every time...
Oh don't worry about it. I wasn't bothered. You aren't the first to claim that. Anyway, It's tough. Because this part doesn't always go the exact same. Not much you can do. If Meryl and them are getting shot, then you'll have to find out who is shoothing them and knock them out. There aren't really any tips I can give for this besides what I'm doing in the video.
It confuses me too. It seems you can tranq a FROG and if they fall to their death it doesn't count. However if they fall from a high enough distance, then it will count. I'm not entirely sure. I think the safest bet is to just not tranq them on cielings or walls.
Wow, this is a pain, just wondering, how much time is the max I can have at the Act 5 End Save (going for BBE) I beat it once on solid normal going for the #3 emb.(Must beat game in 6 hours) My save said 5:45:something and then on the game completion page it said 6:02:22, I missed it by 2 minutes. No, to recieve the dolls you must complete the FROG battle without killing anyone. Then to recieve the other dolls. You must defeat the Beast form of each boss non-lethally. Then you will be able to find the doll nearby during the beauty fight.
kl thnx at the moment im going through the game on solidnormal to get stealth camo and its amazingly hard to not get spotted im stuck on act 2 were the big battle is against the rebels and pmcs got any tips ???
Well, to be honest I would say if you're going for the stealth camo, then just do it on liquid easy. The guards on that have terrible vision, they go down in like 1 tranq shot to the body, they also can't hear very well, and you can knock them out my diving into them. But if you want to stay on normal then let me know, and I'll help you if I can.

I was waiting for Meryl. If you tap R1 fast enough then Snake does a combo move. I was trying to do the first punch continously as fast as I could without going through the full combo.

I assume it could be because of how fast you go over to him and try to wake him up.
If you wake him directly after he's knocked out, it'll probably take longer. But I waited before waking him.
That's just my guess though, I'm not sure exactly why I did it with just one tap

I don't think people drop any. You have to find them scattered around the level.

No, I believe there's a perfect strategy, I have yet to find it. It's just that this battle against the FROG's doesn't always go the same.

Forgot to add, taking them out at start is easier if you immediately go prone and then make a mad dash to the wall in front of Meryl. For some reason this prompts Johnathan to throw a nade (70% of the time). While still stunned from John's nade roll into that corner and watch them jump in front of you =]

What I do is slightly different from yours, I roll over the staircase to get ahead of Rat Pt, go to 2 of the places you placed mines (kitchen/blocked hall) but I place one right where Meryl is @ 1:21 after Akiba leaves his cover, it will take out 5+ people who try to flank you from behind. =] Hope this helps at all.

Yeah, I've discovered new ways to go about it. One of them is setting a mine right where Johnny is after he leaves his cover.

Hmm. Didn't post my other comment, but oh well. K, couple things. The 2 playthroughs I did a couple odd things happened. Extra grenades and such were thrown and FROGs weren't dropping or were dropping in different spots. Meryl went blind and got me killed the first time. But the main thing was that the RAT team would freeze sometimes. Had to run around a while to get them to move or to coerce a FROG down. Anyway to make things go smoother for next time or will I have to improvise some each time?

While messing around with Speed Running, I've noticed that if done right, the entire FROG battle goes the exact same everytime. It all depends on which FROGS you eliminate, and where you stand when each group makes it's entrance.

I think there are a couple of ways to do that part. In my newest video I show how I do it, I just stun him with the knife, and then wake him up. It skips the whole scene.

Ya, I just roll into him shortly after he comes down the stairs. I still got knicked once running across, but it skipped everything for the most part there.

I assume it's between 1:50 and 2:30 but I'm not sure because your in a different section. FROGs toss a flash then come from behind and mohawk guy kills everyone but her and then just stands there until he dies. did that make any sense?

Well, usually he goes in the back, so he shouldn't be getting shot. So I'm not sure why that's happening.

I did...three times...every time it flashbangs in, jumps on the cieling, then shoots the mohawk guy. He just stands there and she doesn't come down...Every time...

I think it was said because you are doing so well no one can do it as good/well. So they think your playing on a lower one.
I found who it is but they stay on the ceiling so I can't shoot them. :(

Oh don't worry about it. I wasn't bothered. You aren't the first to claim that. Anyway, It's tough. Because this part doesn't always go the exact same. Not much you can do. If Meryl and them are getting shot, then you'll have to find out who is shoothing them and knock them out. There aren't really any tips I can give for this besides what I'm doing in the video.

If I tranq a FROG and then they fall to the ground (I think it kills them), does that count as a kill against me? I can never figure it out...:(

It confuses me too. It seems you can tranq a FROG and if they fall to their death it doesn't count. However if they fall from a high enough distance, then it will count. I'm not entirely sure. I think the safest bet is to just not tranq them on cielings or walls.

Wow, this is a pain, just wondering, how much time is the max I can have at the Act 5 End Save (going for BBE) I beat it once on solid normal going for the #3 emb.(Must beat game in 6 hours) My save said 5:45:something and then on the game completion page it said 6:02:22, I missed it by 2 minutes. Well what is taking up the extra time??

You have to leave 18-20mins. for the credits, and unskippable scenes after the final fight.

No, to recieve the dolls you must complete the FROG battle without killing anyone. Then to recieve the other dolls. You must defeat the Beast form of each boss non-lethally. Then you will be able to find the doll nearby during the beauty fight.

kl thnx at the moment im going through the game on solidnormal to get stealth camo and its amazingly hard to not get spotted im stuck on act 2 were the big battle is against the rebels and pmcs got any tips ???

Well, to be honest I would say if you're going for the stealth camo, then just do it on liquid easy. The guards on that have terrible vision, they go down in like 1 tranq shot to the body, they also can't hear very well, and you can knock them out my diving into them. But if you want to stay on normal then let me know, and I'll help you if I can.

I was waiting for Meryl. If you tap R1 fast enough then Snake does a combo move. I was trying to do the first punch continously as fast as I could without going through the full combo.
