It is so difficult to take Lipton seriously. He rather appears as a spoiled child who would eat macaroni & cheese off that TV tray he sits at whilst banging a cup to get his mother's attention. @redmanzanita I disagree again. The Harry Potter movies are not very good, I grant you that. But the "Harry Potter story" is amazing. Harry Potter is all about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity and the books are absolutely wonderful. So please, blame the film makers, but the cast and the story are incredible, incredible things. I mean, why do you think that amazing cast all signed on in the first place? It's because the books are superb.

As much as I love Hugh Laurie he is no Emma Thompson. He's no Maggie Smith. Are you really suggesting that these people are sub-par? I would like to suggest a theory as to why he wasn't in them - there is not a single part that Hugh Laurie would fit the description of. The Harry Potter movies are that great but the cast is undeniably phenomenal.
