The United States isn't technically a religious country... It's supposed to be secular. Christmas IS allowed to be celebrated, but it's not allowed to be advocated by the school because Some children could feel threatened and forced to celebrate a holiday that does not belong to their religion or lack of. Same with praying. You can pray all you want, but the school can not hold sessions for prayer.

The United States isn't technically a religious country... It's supposed to be secular. Christmas IS allowed to be celebrated, but it's not allowed to be advocated by the school because Some children could feel threatened and forced to celebrate a holiday that does not belong to their religion or lack of. Same with praying. You can pray all you want, but the school can not hold sessions for prayer.

@DarkWolf0x0 If that's what your grandparents taught you, I suggest you study actual history: The Constitution of the USA says clearly, right at the beginning that the church and the state should be separated. The initial banknotes had no "In god we trust" written on them. That phrase was added years later when fundamentalist presidents started being elected.
Long story short: your country, by endorsing religion as a path to follow for it's leaders, is treading over it's own Constitution.

I will also point out to 1God1Jesus since he may not realize certain policies in our schools but you are still allowed to pray in school so Rick Perry doesn't even know wtf he is talking about. What you can't do is pray as an assembly in school but you can pray individually.
