When i first played this game, saw this intro i knew something was different, some divide between diversionary video games that tickled you and kept your attention the way a mobile keeps an infant entranced and the attention when you're completely wrapt in the story, the character; when wanting to know what happens next is more important than earning points. He never washed the blood off in remembrance of his fallen adversaries. Instead of being dark red, or bright red, the blood has rusted off and on that fated night, the moon's light shone upon him, reflecting a bit of blue to give the off-tint of...Orange.
And now we are almost playing NG 3. Finally we might get a good look at Ryu as a person and not just some ruthless ninja with bad storyline and concept.But damn good gameplay, hopefully it will stay that way in NG 3 as well.

I remember this intro vividly as a kid, this intro was wicked! But I never understood 2 things from it...First off, why does the red ninja collapse? They other ninjas sword never touched his body, they just hit swords, that's it. Second, how is it that the red ninja hits the ground way after the other one does, when they both started falling at the same speed/time? Red ninja musta had some crazy hangtime lol.
That was all "Hollywood Effect". He really DID get stabbed I'm pretty sure, but they wanted to make it epic, so they made the scene flash, and the chime was probably meant to coincide with the epic flash. As for the second question, I dunno lol.

There was a ninja game on the nes where you had to collect little white orbs and every time you did your karate gi would change colors. You also had to fight guys that came from the trees that looked like raiden. One hit from a ninja star could kill ya as well. Does anyone remember the name of this game? It was a real pisser.

I remember some these nntendo games even had novels to it. I had the Ninja Gaiden version.The book followed similar to the game. I read the Castlevania version,that one was crap.

Great childhood memories - except the game was called Shadow Warrior in Europe.. I even got some new friends because of this game. After I stopped playing it I rarely saw them again though. Actually kinda sad when I think it through, lol...
