To answer which is faster....it depends on the length of the track To 1/4 mile the dragsters were faster than the boats 4.42 by Doug Kalitta and Tony Schumacher to Daryl Earlych's 4.52...but on a 1000 foot course, the boats are faster...3.58 by Scotty Lumbert to the 3.77 ran by Larry Dixon...of course the boats get a 125 foot running start which is one of the reasons why they are faster to 1000foot

if that were the case the prop would have to be submerged in the water pretty deep, i think that would cause more drag and more stress on the motor, im sure these guys have it set up the best way possible

@jallaguri, why they spurt so much water is therefor one or more blades of the prop are always over water surface. Often just one blade of the prop is under water. Why? To decrease cavitation between blades and increase thermal efficiency of the prop. If the prop creates lots of gas bubbles the efficency of the prop becomes lower. Therefor only one blade is in the water and the other whips water in to the air.
