  • Any other examples of someone actually putting Don in his place?

  • The guy that played Jimmy Barrett is an outstanding actor.

  • jimmy goes home and laughs at don? ... "ahahahaa. silly don slamming my wife, ahahahahaa"

  • @idrinkalotmorethanu that comment made me laugh a lot, fantastic

  • Don's a champ and I'm glad he punched this tosser out.

  • this was a pretty surprisingly scene, mostly because gets taken down so explosively

    it certainly works

at 0:40 he looks like a total lying scumbag in denial, a far cry from the suave, sophisticated intelligent alpha male he'd been built upto at that point in the series

its said that writer matthew weiner really loves toying with the audience's expectations, and he's certainly done it here

  • Hey looks like Mickey Mouse!! :D

  • Even though Jimmy is 100% right, you've still got to root for Don.

  • @razarsenal180 no you don't.

  • @gotahc ye... you do...

  • @readigo un-unh :-P

  • Wait, is this kid is the deans assistant from Old School?! *checks IMDB* It is! Good for him!!

  • Also an interesting scene because it addresses that Don never has sex with whores (even though it would be way less troublesome for him if he did). I think the reason he doesn't must be because of his mother.

  • @naltschul he starts using prostitutes and call girls later in the show though..

  • @deionc Stop writing comments about what happens later in the show. It's extremely annoying for those who haven't watched all the seasons yet.

  • @Barbiehoe YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO! Everyone! He asks Peggy to marry him! Believe me if you want...

  • @Barbiehoe I can tell you whatever I want. STOP SPOILING FOR OTHERS!

  • Don had every right to cheat on that Betty. She's a slut for having sex with the washing machine in the first place.

  • I think Don is a great character but Jimmy could not have been more right in this scene. Married man sleeping with a single woman is bad enough. Married man sleep with another man's wife. Jesus H....

  • one of my favorite scenes in the entire show.

  • What makes this scene so raw is that it's an insult that cuts right to the bone for Draper, he has always felt (and was often told as a child) that he's garbage. Of the many different insults Jimmy could have chosen, this one hit home.

  • Miky Cohen in LA Noire.

  • This scene and the earlier scene where Jimmy clues in the clueless Mrs. Draper are my favorite moments in Mad Men. I love that someone finally told Draper what a prick he really is. Also thought it was great that Jimmy used him before he did it.

  • Just try sticking your face into a can of nuts!

  • Jimmy is so clearly based, in look and voice, on Martin Scorsese in the 90s.

  • @sturmraist50 Yeah, they've got the same eyebrows. The guy playing him also reminds me a bit of Frank Vincent.

  • A powerful scene. Barrett is a relatively minor character but he is extremely well-written, a complex multi-dimensional character who has a razor-sharp and sometimes mean-spirited sense of humor but who also has integrity. Kudos to Barret, who finally calls Draper on his non-stop prevarication.

('Prevarication' is just a fancy-ass word for bullshit. Draper is full of it.)

  • "You're garbage"

Anyone actually cheer this scene when it happend? Barrett is a legend.

  • Jimmy Barrett is a cunt.

  • @Force10FromMimico how? draper fucked his wife, what if i fucked your gf or wife. would it make you a "cunt" to get mad at me? no.

  • You got that one comin up, Draper

  • Comment removed

  • YOU'RE GAH-BAGE! YOU MUFF GAH-BAGE!!!

  • Jimmy was a little rat, hated him

  • "You're garbage, and you know it." Couldn't be closer to the truth.

  • I like Don Draper, and I hate this little weasel fag

  • @ericorenato88 but the rat's right

  • Love this scene, I was specifically looking for it.

  • The "Joker" calls the bluff..and calls a spade a spade! Funny how sometimes your reality can be called at any moment..I like this scene from Mad Men because, as I said, "The Joker called him on his entire bluff!! Sometimes I wonder if that was the show in a nutshell!! Good show!

  • does anyone know on wich true comedian jimmy barrett is based on?

  • @streamlord He's really an amalgam of different comics from that time I think. There's a little bit of Don Rickles, Jackie Mason, Jerry Lewis in there.

  • @redgalaxy4 thx man! i knew he reminds me a little of those guys!

  • @streamlord i would love to know this too! i'm sure he was based on somebody, his character seems iconic

  • mpjrdldn... you're right, Jimmy is played by that guy! Saw Mullholand Drive the day before I watched the first ep he was in MM... flipped me out.

    Gotta love this part... awesome.

  • "What did you get? Bobby? Lots of people have had that." THAT! LOL!.

  • @Zigzag4me Sounds, like he loves his wife...:)

  • Isn't Jimmy played by the actor appearing in Mulholland Drive and Lost?

  • that dude needs to trim those eyebrow hedges

  • garyowen4ever... garyeberly916... why does it sound like you know each other and what you've written is some kind of "lets make everyone mad" joke??

  • DAAAAAMN. Makes sense. His philandering is symptomatic of his self-hatred, and it took someone who barely knows Don to tell him.

  • he cut him

  • Jimmy owned Don. He really is garbage.

  • If you think Don is garbage...why do you watch the show?

  • He's a liar and constantly cheats on his wife and denies everything when confronted. Is that your definition of a good guy? His character is complex and Jon Hamm is doing an amazing job with the role. I just wouldn't like to be married to a Don Draper. And seriously your question doesn't make any sense at all. So to enjoy the show, you gotta love Don? Ridiculous. There are other characters on the show you know?

  • Don is no angel, that's for sure. Hell, Jimmy Berret isn't an angel. Remember how he treated that fat woman. In my opinion, Don IS a good person. And, I personally don't watch shows when I hate the main character. Ensemble cast or not.

  • Great scene. First time anybody on the show knocked Don off his high horse

  • Agreed, Jimmy was my hero that episode for calling Don out on the affair.

  • @yavivolavida Yeah!

  • yeah he is on a high horse isn't he. but Don still pwns.

  • Well, actually, Bobbi confirmed that Jimmy was Jewish at the bar when Don ran into Rachel.

  • im not gary owen the comedian,,,i am a militant populist of both traditions and blood and i know my jeiwsh women boychik.

  • you're a paperback intellectual trying to sound smart, shut it.

  • hey gaybelly916......FUCK OFF.

  • hey garyowned...FUCK OFF...that's what you sound like.

  • yo gaybely916.........get aids and die you faggot.

  • if so, I'm taking your mother with me

  • GAYBELLY 916......i knew your were a gay butt fucking cocksucking, shit eating faggot.

  • wow, someone sounds like a definite homophobe. I'm sure you're family is very proud of you and your extensive intellectual vocabulary :)

  • oh..oh...oh... watch out everyone, garyeberly916 has pulled out his big words.

  • Oh oh oh watch out everyone, iamblocked knows how to use google.

  • WOW....garyeberly916 you're intensely intelligent.

  • Ya well at least I don't post videos of myself horribly lipsynching, but hey, thanks :)

  • oh so THIS is why you're trolling the prego, Cause she told you that you were intensely intelligent. You just had to prove her wrong, Gotcha.

  • Hmmm... okay...
