They should be getting out and getting experience against people who know how to strike, same as strikers should gain experience in how to properly manhandle a grappler. To be properly good at your style you need to be able to adapt it use it in unfamiliar territory. It's all good to be able to toss the idiot who throws a monster cross, but the judoka who can catch and toss during a combination would have the goods to laugh at pretty much anyone.
