@dannybrenful i dont get it what do u mean? charles manson was basically a serial killer that basically brainwashed his followers to kill and beatles are a rock band lol what did you mean?
I don't care how old you are or when this first came out. You'll still hear this song in 20 years it'll never die. I live like 30 mins away from the Manson ranch D:
@Redemption10000 The lyrics don't really have any meaning. "Helter skelter" basically means everything is chaos. Paul wrote this song after The Who's 'I Can See for Miles' was labled as the most heaviest song at the time. He thought he could make a heavier one so he did. The reason Ringo screams "I've got blisters on my fingers" at the end was because he was pounding on the drums for so long that his fingures were bleeding. When The Beatles were recording this it was like a long jam session.
So weird how the Beatles made so many different sounding songs. There is this (Helter Skelter), Yellow Submarine, I am the Walrus, and Yesterday. All of them very different.
What an ugly song. Not that I don't absolutely love it (for this very reason, I do), but there's real anger in this. It was almost as if the band was trying to devour itself with the most enraged noise they could think of. As inherently badass as the song is, it's also sad as hell.
@Dedamn666 Any one I know that agrees with the way you feel is either really into modern pop music or really into metal and needs all of their rock music to be loud, intense, and laden with guitar shredding and intense vocals. But they always say "paved the way" to give them their credit. Please! Beatles music is just good on its own. It's called musical quality. What band did the Beatles "pave the way" for that is better for them?
@EBMiami14 youve done nothing at all to try and prove anything commenting on that, other than add to to the cliches of an elitist beatles fanatic. I like neither modern pop nor metal. I see nothing at all wrong with saying they paved the way. Its better than saying "oh they're shit fuck them". Instead its a way of saying you do not really like the majority of their music but respect them none the less. Beatles paved the way for what to me and a lot of other people, are better bands.
@Dedamn666 Not an elitist beatles fanatic, probably an elitist music fanatic though not gonna lie. I'm one of those people "good music" and "bad music" people that can handle all genres, so not surprised how I came off. I've always just had that mind that understands general critical opinion of what "good music" is, which's that the Beatles produced the best music consistently. I used modern pop and metal as MY OWN instances though, not to call u that. I can be a fan of both sometimes
im only aware of this song from watching the manson videos(last few days) but im genuinely blown away this FUKN ROCKS!!! almost AC/DC ahead of their time, beatles rule. so lovely n dark :) i can c now y groups like iron maiden /black sabath etc.. got to their place!
Helter Skelter is off of White Album, probably one of the most influencial albums of all time. And one of the best albums to blast through your speakers at full volume and piss of your whole neighborhood. :)
For hidden messages in Beatles songs Google: Truth Contest, open and click on The Present, click on the Beatles section. Thumbs up on this comment, help spread it around copy and paste it on other youtube Beatles videos.
@SlashIsAmazin Charles Manson was obsessed with this song because he thought that the Beatles where giving him a message through this song to finally start the race war that Charlie and his followers where planning. So, Charlie then named the race war "Helter Skelter". Which is why Helter Skelter was written on the refridgerator in blood at one of the crime scenes.
@fletchers4 you can call them pop anymore, when you see the modern electronic, rnb, hip hop, house pop. They have a lot more in common with modern Indie Rock, Alternative Rock and metalcore. Way more
There are hidden messages in many Beatles' songs, but they are not exactly what Manson interpreted them to be. To learn how to hear the hidden meanings, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the first result, then open "The Present" and read through the section about The Beatles.

Man people are so ignorant. Helter Skelter is not about "killing niggers". Helter Skelter was suppossed to be the race war where black people rise up and off kill white people back in the 1960's. Then black people would supposedly surrender control to Charles Manson and his family because they wouldnt be able to govern.
It was supposedly the motive for the Tate-Lablanca murders back in 1969.
I don't know if he likes it or not, but he started the Manson Family and Manson Killings because he thought it was an apocalyptic warning telling him to start murdering people.
@maxman1602 Manson is one paranoid schyzofrenic alas,Beatles were against segregations, when they saw at some of their concerts are people segregate they told they will not play
Funny, I always thought it was either George or John who said it. As anyone who plays the guitar knows, it can be quite trying on your fingers...ESPECIALLY when playing this. But it is Ringo. I GOT BLISTERS ON ME FINGAS!
@rockandmetaljunkie and how you would classify Rihanna, guetta, Britney spears, lady gaga and justin bieber? They are so different from the beatles, but they are classified as pop. Therefore it makes no sense to classify the beatles as pop. they have the typical back beat from rock music, the have a lot of riffs, and a lot of guitar.
