  • the time before the slider was a painful time

  • Yikes....those look like hard landings..no flare ?

  • First two canopies were really close to the stall, sinking on to the target. Then the wind dropped out behind the grandstand, making a flare too dangerous. And these were the first ram airs. We'd only just moved up from round Paracommanders.

  • Looks like the 1976 2nd Semi Final between Port Adelaide and Glenelg. There is a very brief shot of the scoreboard at about 2:06.

  • 9 Cells, no swooping going on back then!

  • @skydivn No one was dying on landings either!

  • I'm sure that plane is still being jumped out of.

  • Its amazing to watch this. Its even more amazing how far our sport has come. These guys are true pioneers. Respect.

  • Thankyou for this video. Thats my Dad - Bernie Keenan! A year before i was born. love it - Cheers

  • Amazing footage of a very new West Lakes at the time. Most of the area was undeveloped as you can see the lake was formed but no houses.

  • September 12, 1976 -- can't remember the teams. State of Origin match I think. Golden Arrows was the only SA demo team at the time.

  • @td12308 Looks like the 1976 2nd Semi Final between Port Adelaide and Glenelg (if it's September 1976 that's the only time they met). There is a very brief shot of the scoreboard.

  • ....paracadutismo di altri tempi...bello rivedere queste immagini i pionieri dei primi paracadute a profilo alare.

  • Ouch! Painful landings. Great footage.

  • Yeah, no wonder they invented the PLF!
