People like 'wallidjanafghan' whose brought up in homes and madrassas is anti Ahlalbaite Mohammad (pbuh), are allergic to anything related to Ali therefore the afghani is advised to search for his imams dua if there is any. Afghani need not listen to dua which is above his I Q.
It should be remembered that the paternal aunt of Shimr, Umm Banin bint Kharam, was the wife of Hazrat Ali (Karramallahu taala wajhah) and whose off-springs were Abbas, Abdullah, Jafar, and Uthman and all the four brothers were accompanying Imam Husain in this encounter. Salam, I understand what you are trying to say but it is not necessary to argue about that because in Dua-e-Kumayl which was taught by Imam Ali (A.S) is about asking Allah for forgiveness and help, in this supplication a person is not asking anyone but Allah's help and pardon, therefore what you are saying about how we should only ask Allah then that is exactly what is being done here. Please read the translation provided on the video so that you will understand the Dua properly.

Yes Allah does protect us, and he can choose any means to protect us, Imam Ali (A.S) is Allah's means to protect us. who told you we worship our Imams? We worship Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) only, they are our Guides after Rasul Allah (salAllahu alayhi wa ahli wa salam). This dua is very beautiful and touchfull. I had never known this before. Once I listen to this dua, I'm really touched and I listen to it any time as soon as I had the opportunity. I don't care wheather this came from Syiah or Suny but as long as it is a good dua I like to listen and to follow it. From this dua there are no signs as it came from Syiah or Sunny. Islam is only one,so we have to keep in unity!

You Sunnis are brain washed by Wahhabis so do not read your Quran and think independently. So allow me to shed some light. Allah says in his noble book that he made a wahy (revelation) to honey bee and honey bee is not a prophet. Allah made wahy (to Mother of Maryam) and mother of Nabi Musa and they were not prophet and they lived in various times of history. Further Allah swt says in Quran that we are witness to man kind and Nabi (as) witness to us. These two witness are place together, This witness is same as a court case. walaikum asalam the point that I wanted to make with respect to imam Hassan and Husain is that may Allah have mercy upon them when you ask for some eg heeling etc ask from Allah when we pray salat sura fatiha "... thee alone we worship and thee alone we ask for help... " we should truly turn our attention to Allah as is the only one that can hear and see everything.

Salam, I understand what you are trying to say but it is not necessary to argue about that because in Dua-e-Kumayl which was taught by Imam Ali (A.S) is about asking Allah for forgiveness and help, in this supplication a person is not asking anyone but Allah's help and pardon, therefore what you are saying about how we should only ask Allah then that is exactly what is being done here. Please read the translation provided on the video so that you will understand the Dua properly.

Yes Allah does protect us, and he can choose any means to protect us, Imam Ali (A.S) is Allah's means to protect us. If Allah can help our Prophet (S.A.W.S) through the protection of Imam Ali in the battle of Uhad when all the rest of the "SAHABA" left him then why can't Allah help us though Imam Ali? & dont say that he is not alive because a Shaheed never dies. Ali radillah annha was a great man which means that we should become like him to worship Allah and do Good, forbid evil etc, but my brother we must not make mistakes that will lead to shirk, the Christians love for Jesus peace be upon him lead them astray. When someone become a shaheed he goes to paradise would they want to come back to earth I don't think so. One more thing if we want protection we should ask Allah directly and not associate any partners to Him .

who told you we worship our Imams? We worship Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) only, they are our Guides after Rasul Allah (salAllahu alayhi wa ahli wa salam). "Whatever the Holy Prophet gives you accept it, and whatever he forbids you forbear it" (59:8). He has told you Ali is his successor. And does it mean you worship the Holy Prophet because you do everything he says? no! he and his family tell you to worship only Allah (subhana wa ta'ala). when somebody dies (shaheed or natural death etc) they go to the world of Ghab (unseen) so they do not see or hear you, it is only Allah the ever hearing and seeing, if you pray and ask help from dead imams thinking they can hear and see you this will be shirk!
So my friend we must be careful of thing we do asking dead imaam's intercession this would be like praying to them and you know you are only allowed to pray to Allah swt

Similarly Quran says do not think those killed on the path of Allah are dead, rather they are alive..... Even the Abdul Wahhab the advocate of the Wahhabi faith in his book talks about the Nabi (as) being alive. Because there is many hadeeth from messenger of Allah who said that I hear your voice and hear your call.

My dearest, prophet pbuh is and mercy to both worlds and off course you can use him as an intercessor now. The noble quran says when those who transgressed against themselves and committed a sin came to prophet and ask him to asks for their forgiveness from Allah swt, they surely finds Allah to be off returning and forgiving. And since there is no real death and existance is linear and prophet saw hears our call call upon him and ask for his intercession and ensha'allah you would be forgiven

You should also read Doaa al-Tawasul every Wednesday night.
This book explains much to you because wALLAH my parents are both sick so I learn from others and assure myself by reading.
I learned so much from Noor al-3ashiqeen. It has so many Doaas and it explains the benefits of each one.

This dua is very beautiful and touchfull. I had never known this before. Once I listen to this dua, I'm really touched and I listen to it any time as soon as I had the opportunity. I don't care wheather this came from Syiah or Suny but as long as it is a good dua I like to listen and to follow it. From this dua there are no signs as it came from Syiah or Sunny. Islam is only one,so we have to keep in unity!

What are stereotyped stupid answer? Also what is your definition of benefit? If you don't like to recite this dua, it's your choice. Many people feel spiritually uplifted by this dua and many other Duas. It's a personal matter.
I believe dua has little to do with how we might be going on the wrong path as Moslems and Shiites. We also have to consider the fact that we are individuals with our own interpretation and impression of religious rules and matters.
