WHY do they have to do CGI backgrounds? I'm thrilled about puppetry but not so thrilled when I keep hearing things like "computer backgrounds" and "enhanced with CGI." The puppets don't need "enhancing." And backgrounds look better real, like they do in the...you know, natural world.

Did anyone notice that the picture that they showed at the beginning, "The Queen of the Golden Bough" looks an AWFULLY lot like the conceptual photo of Queen Kira from the upcoming Dark Crystal sequel? I wonder if they got the inspiration from that?

Also yay yay yay at the new about there definitely being a Dark Crystal Sequel, I honestly never thought they'd make another one, especially not with puppets. Glad not just going to be done on computers. I still think the original is the best fantasy film ever made. I'd even put it before lord of the rings :)

I have to agree with you on that. The Dark Crystal was the first fantasy film I saw as a child and it had a major impact on me. A much as I'm enjoying the revival of fantasy over the past 10 years. The Dark Crystal will always be my all time favorite fantasy film.

A very close secound is 9. I've been waiting for years for a fantasy film to be equally as good if not better than The Dark Crystal. It comes close.
