they are for practice, avoids splinters and are a lot safer for both the holder and striker and you can reuse them. you can get ones that require more or less force to break.
very nice XD!!! I remember when I was a purple belt yrs ago, and my form was nowhere near as good looking as that. I was around the same age and enthusiastic about what I was doing and I can stee that u r to keep it up! rooting 4 u.
Great technique and form on all his moves. I can't help but notice he's involved in the Lowell, In. ATA. I go by there when I go to my grandparents. My wife and myself and our two daughters are training at the Bourbonnais, Il. ATA under Master Eugene Candreva.
please stop by the studio. Master Candreva is dear to my heart.
By the way, this performance was created by this child as part of his "Leadership" testing. He created his own form equal to one of is parents age, and selected his own "challenging" board breaks.
A very dedicated young man with a great martial arts future.
Next time we're out that way, we will be sure to stop by the studio. Master "C" as we know him is an excellent teacher. Both my wife and I are glad we got into Taekwondo with our daughters.
lol wow, he's prtty good for a kid his age, and i remember purple belt form, i hated it lol, well done, he's on his way. btw nice choice in schools, i'm with the ATA too =P
WOW! I'm speechless. He is clearly very talented. Having taught TKD for 9years, mostly children, often it's like herding kittens. However, this child is certainly not "dancing around" as the previous poster stated. Yes, it'll take years to master but he's clearly well on his way. It's a pleasure to see a child keeping his hands up while kicking. His execution of technique is superb. Particularly the crescent kick & the rt. side kick. His parents & instructors should be very proud.
Come on. A 7 year be better off learning it. He will not be able to master it for another 10 years. Now he is just dancing around. Breaking those planks are simple. Made to break easy. Don't see them making furniture out of those.
I'm sorry, but I just have to say I love how the BOB bag in the background has a santa hat on :)

Plastic boards are re-breakable. They are made in varying levels of strength: white, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown, and black (in that order).
