This is a supreme effort even after all this time. They summarise the 80's best, I think, by delivering outstanding music, but also exquisitly performed. Those synth sounds humming in tune with their harmonies cannot be bettered. Or?
good music!!!!!!!I love this song there are many instruments in and fletch for once did something (which is did not used to do lol) and alan is perfect!
Depeche Mode is nothing without Allan Wilder... I know many people will be mad at me, but.... it's the truth, man! he was the genious that made work this out, as a spaceship rising...
@salvadorviniegra1 i respectfully disagree. alan was an integral part of the group but to say that DM is nothing without him is totally unfair. if what ur saying is true, then how come their concerts in 2001-2010 in different countries still gather a mammoth crowd? remember that alan left them in the 90s. it's martin's songwriting ability that keeps the group alive to this time. i urge you to watch their recent concerts here on youtube then tell me if i'm lying or not
@MsPink68 ok, may be he has the songwriting ability and ok, he is a good element in the band, but, Allan did teach how to use sinthethyzers to Martin, and how to make secuences, because, before Allan went into the band, they sounded as kindergarden toys, it's true! :)
@salvadorviniegra1 i think ur not really a DM fan. ur out here to sow rift among real DM fans. to correct your fact, i'll waste some of my time for you. before alan came to DM, they were already famous for 'Just Can't Get Enough' and 'See You'. They were already an established band. They already had a name. before alan came into the picture, they were already "the" DM we know them today. Martin does not only write songs. He plays several instruments.
@salvadorviniegra1 maybe you live in a spacechip , what's wrong with martin gore ????? dont remember Ultra???? the first album without alan ....ask everybody about this album , is a masterpiece . bye ..im not mad
@salvadorviniegra1 This may be a month late but have to disagree with you. Alan is great but he is NOT the one who took away the Kindergarten toy sound DM had. Martin wanted to become darker but the label wanted them to continue being commercial, Martin is the darkest figure in DM. Alan is as well but experimental. The toy sound they had was 'cause of Vince & they were young & learning. Alan did not teach Martin synths. He helped DM in the spacey & abstract noise sounds we hear in B.Celebration
This is one of their best performances of that year, Top Of The Pops had cool bands playing not like here in Canada or whatever!!! I Love Depeche Mode!!!
Oh my goodness, the last time I heard this song was......way back when I bought the catching up with depeche mode album some 20 years ago. Has it been that long?
What a performance. Bravo! Perfection.

This was done on playback, as far as I see, or they really made a performance exactly like the album version of the song :))
I noticed they did this several times, at least, even recently, with 'playing' "Wrong" for MTV, during some rewards, not sure exactly what for...

When we listen this song and Construction Time Again, Sounds Of The Universe is produced with sounds of '83.
Maybe a sign for Alan's COMEBACK ???
