• Brilliant as ever!

  • the whole movie is an art lesson... Enjoy! thank you for posting.

  • I love this movie. The remake is garbage.

  • Steve Mcqeen the king of cool.

  • It's my favourite film ever. A beautiful love story. Brilliant!!

  • i love the scene! one of my favorite films

  • Heavenly! Thank you so much for this!

  • I adore this! I am taken to another world when i play this! Just love watching the light aircraft and seeing Steve McQueen again! So young when he sadly died of cancer I think! He started life as a fire fighter and then became a wonderful actor and an icon! Miss the professional and lovely looks and movies that he starred in!

  • Howcome? How did we move from songs and movies like that to Lady Gaga and Transformers ...

  • @valizadi WE? :-) I rather say: SOME of people :)

Great song and great clip ! I love watching him soaring in that glider. Just a wind noise and total freedom ! Sweet !!!

  • Steve Mcqueen ♥ ♥

  • You were suddenly aware that the autumn leaves were turning to the color of her hair.

  • You were aware that the autumn leaves were turning to the color of her hair.

  • great love this video , thank you.

  • Not bad 4 an orphan, who in later life brought gifts 2 th kid at the orphanage. If only he'd stayed away from th smokes. If our hallowed govt is so serious about drug control & health care why don't they take th nicotine outta th smokes??? Simple . . . as usual it's money. In America, follow th trail of th bouncin dollars & 99% of th time the motivation will reveal itself.

  • One of the best movie scenes, ever!

  • Not a jet engine noise - just the sound of the air brakes on the wings slowing the glider down on the fast approach to landing

  • why wood there be a jet engine noise wen he is in a glider ? top tune tho

  • wat a tune! no ritten like this noo

  • Fab!

  • Great job! Thanks for posting it! This song (with this part of the movie) is simply AWESOME!

  • alguien me puede decir que pelicula es.. por favor muy bonita cancion

  • the best part is when the song breaks and you hear the swoosh of the glider and then the song starts again

  • This is the quintessential version of the song.

  • I've loved this scene and the song since the first time I ever saw it and never could forget the way it made me feel. It's a great movie and Steve McQueen just unforgetalbe. Your dad must be a great boy if likes especially this part of the movie!

    Thanks Armando for this !!!

  • There are better versions of this song (Dusty Springfield's is superb), but for me, Noel Harrison's is definitive.

I loved it in the 1960s, it's Steve McQueen, it's the music of a truly great film.

  • Agreed with all you've written here. Dusty Springfield's can't be bested, but this is good, especially in the movie.

  • I just love this!! Thank you so much for the post. Steve McQueen was my all time favorite actor. My favorite movie "The Great Escape". and the motorcycle scene he insisted on doing himself. It was great!

  • Sorry Dude thats an urban myth.

    Reuters quote :-

"Bud Ekins, who has died aged 77, was a renowned off-road racer and stuntman who performed the famous motorcycle jump over barbed wire in the film The Great Escape, and bounced a Mustang up and down the hills of San Francisco in Bullitt. "

  • Thanks Armando!!!

  • stirs my heart

  • my fav Steve McQueen film was Bullit. I love the way he says so little and speaks with his silence and movement.

  • Yes, Dusty Springfield had the most popular recording and it was very good; but I will take Noel Harrison's version on the screen any day in the week. Methinks that Michel LeGrand knew what he and the producers were doing by going to Harrison. You see, Harrison has stood the test of time.

  • "Autumn leaves, & the colour of her hair"

  • It's gorgeous isn't it! Kinda reminds me of the girl in the new h&m ad! But Vicky is way more stylish than she is. :)

  • Love this movie. A true classic

  • It's my very favourite Steve McQueen movie

  • PERFECT

  • What ever happened to Astrid Heeren? She was so pretty, and I only have seen her in one other film, that being "Castle Keep."

  • I own a Schweizer 1-23H-15 like this one. Whenever it's lousy weather and I can't fly....I love watching this scene. Thank-you so much!

  • Classic film moment. But can you do a loop-di-loop wearing sunglasses? Don't they fall off?

  • no.

  • g-forces prevent that

  • The quality of this clip is fantastic, I posted it on my favorite list, thanks for sharing with us! Cheers!

  • @maamvalley

    Brilliant so have I!

    B w

  • Sounds like someone has a Juan Quixote fixation. I like this song though.

  • ...great movie and great song

  • I love Sting's version

  • Listen to the Dusty Springfield version of this song. It is definitely the best.

  • Can't understand why people would rate your comment down. The original is much better!

  • STEVE WAS OVERALL ! RIP

  • le temps passe souvenirs d'une époque

  • Well, I tried with the HQ button, and I downloaded both versions, with and without HQ, (in mp4 and .flv). While playing them back, there's an obvious increased quality in the moving picture, UNFORTUNATELY, the SOUND is terribly LOW.

  •
... press the HQ button ...
Thanks a lot. (I didn't notice there was one. And thanks for the clip, in the first place.

The movie is one of my super-super favorite ever... as far for the music... works addictively and seductively !

When I first saw the movie, back in the 80s, - I was only an early teenager - I searched like crazy to find the music score and exercised for hours and hours to manage to play it, though my piano playing skills were only elementary back then.

  • THOUGH, Movie Version HQ,... the sound of the song SUCKS terribly! How's that?

  • press the HQ button

  • @ArmandoXIII

    LOL

  • @ArmandoXIII Where is the HQ button? thanks

  • yes I love this movie and this version of the song so hurrah for both

  • unforgettable :) 5*****

  • My favourite version of this song.

  • Loved both movies, both depicted the era they were made in brilliantly. Prefered the more realistic ending of the original but the chemistry worked much better in the remake - Brosnan and Russo were magic together.

Roll on The Topkapi Affair then we'll have another one to discuss!

  • Half remembered names and faces but to whom do they belong?

  • One of the greatest movies ever made, certainly the best of its genre.

  • I so agree with that - I have watched it sooo many times and the impact is always the same.. hated the re-make :(

  • This is a great movie and incorporates the multi image effect that made its debute at the Czech pavillion at Expo 67. It is often said that this movie was McQeen's favorite and he asked that it be played in his hospital room just before he passed away from cancer. To McQeen, the movie depicted him at the peak of his cinematic powers: cool and elegant, setting an image that many attempted to copy, without success.

  • To 6300lennoxstreet : I felt really touch, while Steve Mcqueen in dying, Who still reviewing his favorite and glory moment of his career. This was the first my favorite song and video clip of my mind !!

  • Thank you for your kind reply. There are many magical moments created by movie soundtracks and songs. The Windmills of My Mind is one of those pieces that is timeless and will have a profound effect on and move people a hundred years from now.

  • nice song!

  • What is the name of the movie?

  • The name ofd the movie is "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1668) starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway.

  • lol 1668

  • 1668. :>

  • George Clooney can only dream of being as cool as Steve McQueen.McQueen was so secure with himself,he didn't need the phoney Hollywood 'Bling'.

  • I agree Georgetown; Steve McQueen was the coolest!!!

  • I think there is a slight resembalance between Steve Mcqueen and Daniel Craigh. Both in acting style and looks.

Great to hear this soundtrack again.

  • Just watched the movie yesterday, what an awesome movie, what awesome actors and what an awesome soundtrack.

Steve McQueen is one of the best, plays in the same league as Sean Connery in my book.

  • My Favourite Steve McQueen Movie with a great Song By Michel Legrand !

  • To mcqueen5 : This version was sang by Noel Harrison in 1968, which received the acadmy award of best picture music in the same year. The version of Michael Legrand for the new Thomas crown affair in 2003.

  • Hi Rainbow76,

It's my very favourite Steve McQueen movie and Soundtrack by Micheal Legrand and sung brilliantly by Noel Harrison.

    Stings version ,I hated !

  • Keren! Awesome!

  • Just perfect......

  • One of the best movies, best actor and best song...Every word is magnificently written.

They don't make movies like this anymore..

  • This chapter of the movie was the classic

    movment with the execellance music

background, it effected to received the acadmy award of best original sound track on 1968 - The wiindmind of your mind. Thank You to posting it and brought back the my memory to best

    film of Steve Mcqueen.

  • gordrulez, that's the way It was written.

  • In the other hand, please to figure it out from the title of this song and meaning of - "The windmill of your mind".

  • why is the singer speeding through the song?

  • Maybe because this is the original and thats how its performed?

  • The purpose to matching the contents of the sceen.

  • love this song it gets me all the time

  • a haunting song.while you're at it check out gypwin

  • The same way water stays in the bottom of a bucket when you spin it round. Centrifugal force.

  • how do those sunglasses stay on his face when he flies upside down. hmmm

  • I bet you havent heard of glue---hahahahahah...

  • michel legrand, awesome!!!

  • Schweitzer SGS 1-23

  • Just got the book: McQueens Machines, highly recommended!

  • Every morning, while having coffee on my morning patio I look up the canyon wall and see his home and give thanks for the work he did.

  • I love this scene, too. It so typifies McQueen as he was. A loner up in the sky who we never understood. Some arrogance, a lot of cockiness. In his later days, McQueen was a big time collector of old airplanes and obtained his pilot's license. A departure from motorcycle riding. Any comments or replies saying I'm right or just full of it are appreciated. Thanks

  • Yep, that is true. he offered a beautiful Piper grasshoper to his wife. The plane at the time of writing is for sale on Ebay, by the way...

he was very enigmatic, which makes him a star he still is.

  • You're right. He was cocky, sure, but also the coolest actor and backed up his arrogance with being an ace in cars, on bikes

  • Great, thanks for posting this I love it.

  • This song does turn the windmills in your mind.

  • simply AWESOME

  • no offense but we don't give a shit.

  • The Dusty Springfield version is far and away the best

  • I love all versions of this brilliant song....esp. the Muppet Show version by nervous "alien bird" muppet Shakey Sanchez.

  • beautiful song.. and that girl is beautiful to

  • wonderful

    thank you...

  • best version by: CerebralJam

  • Hey that's steve mcqueen and ali mcgraw! don't tell bob evans.

  • Best version of this song was by Vic Damone.

  • Great movie, always loved this scene as well.I never saw the remake..I typically hate remakes..and most likely would this one as well. There is/was only one Steve McQueen.

  • I think this scene of the silent yellow glider flying while Noel Harrison sings this haunting song is one of the most memorable images of film. So mesmorizing. I saw the movie when it came out years ago, and recently got the DVD just for the scene and song.

  • Quality never goes out of style.. or dates.

Nice to see this in HQ.

Noel Harrison... whatever happened to him after the "girl from uncle?"

  • sublime!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is priceless! I liked the movie also, both the old and new one!

  • Great job! Thanks for posting it! This song (with this part of the film) is wonderfull!

  • this sounds too mary poppin-ish.. its alright tho

  • The original is the best! Because McQueen never let love get in the way, he played her all along. He had a plan and stuck to it and in the end, ran away and became a millionar because he never let his heart get in the way. Any anyone who has ever been F^Q%$ over in love, can do nothing but smile in the end when Dunaway finds out, he pick the money and not her!

  • Harrison v Sting

    McQueen v Brosnan

    Dunaway v Russo (hahahaahhah)

Jewison v whoever directed the shit remake

    That's four-nil to the original.

  • Vinall fudge?

thats like a tottaly different great song

  • Sadly this song has now passed on, and is no longer with us, Sting murdered it in the end credits of the remake of the Thomas Crown Affair. :-(

  • He certainly did!

There have been many imitators, but only one Noel Harrison, only one Windmills

  • Petula Clark's version is Hauntingly Beautiful as well.

  • so i guess we need to thank both you and your dad

    this movie is eternal...

    ;)

    m

  • oops, sorry - meant to give a thumbs up. Agree with Mattttti - thanks for posting.

  • ....they don't make movies like this anymore...nor music...

    what a beauty Ms Dunaway....

  • anyone seen the remake?

    :-)

  • steve and faye can t be beaten in this film....

  • I like the original.

    Are you kidding man?

    Steve McQueen / Faye Dunaway!

  • When I grow up, I wanna be like this rich cool cat.
