It's a combination of cut-scenes from the unreleased Warcraft adventure game called Lord of the Clans, and the remake of He-Man Masters of the Universe made in 2002.

Afro was an interesting series, but I would argue it lacked a compelling story. It actually reminded me of Samurai Jack: fantastic visuals, interesting main character, nothing but lots of disjointed fights for him to participate in.

It would be great if a quality animation studio was given a nuanced, interesting story to tell.

I love that movie :D

I think that most of eighties and ninties animation was made by the artist's own ideas rather then appealing to a specific demographic, which is why so much of it doesn't fit snugly into a children or adult audience.
