@quickieflyer Check your facts on granite. Resists more bacteria then any surface in a kitchen. I love mine and I just seal it every two years. That only takes a short time to do.
Granite is very expensive in everything, starting with the price and up to maintenance, but I guess this video is useful for those who has such countertops material.
The problem with granite is the EXPENSE. . But it very easy to clean. I never heard about this stuff with granite emitting radon, or about resealing granite.
The only thing Radon is doing for granite is costing consumers to have a test done, buddy of mine is an industrial testing specialist and has done a bunch of Radon tests in the Midland Odessa area and has had very little to 0 radon show up, absolutely nothing to be concerned about but he sure is enjoying the income he is getting generated by the radon scare thanks to info from your friendly quartz company. PS, the scare has been over for months, people finally got tored of wasting their money.
granite sucks, you have to reseal it every 3 years, stainless steel or quartz is a FAR better choice. granite emits radon gas which is the #2 cause of lung cancer. stainless steel is very easy to clean and looks better in my opinion. why pay big bucks for a radioactive rock? (shakes head)
some areas produce more radon then others (example, some areas in ticino switzerland)if house is not sealed from downstairs/underground, radon can be a danger, houses need to be fixed.but a counter top will not produce that much radon to be a risk., to me a joke from engineerd stone producers to sell better
blah blah blah, actually if you do a little research there is NO safe level of radon gas, and since ALL granite countertops contain uranium, which emits radon gas, i guess i rest my case.

i just got a kitchen granite countertop and was wondering how polished does the finished product have to be ? i have certain gaps on the surface where liquids can pour through ...is this bad or good ?
it depends on the color of the stone but ur profile should b the same shiney as the top but other than that its bad i own a granite company in Decatur AL
this video is not accurate you dont need to seal your granite at all if bought in america or any major granite distributers or buyers and if you do seal it the marble instatute of america says if you do seal it its only recommended every 2-5 years this video also makes granite seam high maintaince an d susebtible to stains which is not true
Guys I have a question. Just yesterday we had granite countertops installed. I looked around on some websites and they all say that the builders will put plywood or something UNDER the granite--our countertops have absolutely nothing under them. Is this bad?!
General rule... Granite on the west coast and hawaii is 7/8" thick and requires a plywood subtop. The rest of the country installs 1 1/4" granite that is thick enough in general to avoid the use of plywood.
hey i have one of those tables and ive been knotesing that lime causes white stains on the table i put bleach is that good?

Baby powder should be substituted for an absorptive medium.

Wrong. A sealer very much depends on the usage on the counter top.
Kitchen counters can be done ever two years BUT of you strip and re seal the top every year, you have a lovely counter and longer life for the stone.

Always use gloves with acetone as it is easily absorbed by the skin and causes liver damage.
