  • my dads 98 jeep is a V-6 and it goes fast

  • @salvatore1231 That would be an inline 6.

  • shit a lot of miles!!

  • mine stays between 1 and 2.5 rpm around 60

  • our 98 cherokee has 238k MILES. engine runs like new

  • 217k miles, mine has that much too, still runs great. the 318 is such a good engine.

  • right hand drive?

  • nope.

  • oh, woops... lol, i thought it is... haha!! those are pretty cool, i saw a couple of em, but one is a retired mail car...

  • Damn your ride has Miles HOMIE LOL

  • its in kms.

  • it wasnt at full throttle if you read his description dumbarse.

  • Half maybe... LOL

  • LOL,, that's in KM's... 110 is like 68 MPH,, my moped is faster ....

  • 0-60mph is like 8 seconds on all stock ZJ's witha V8...its not that slow for a 6000 lb SUV.. The 5.9 ZJ in 98 was the quickest 0-60 SUV until the X5 came out at 7.2 seconds. stock..

  • my saturn vue does about 7, if i remember correctly i'll have to go try it agan though

  • @Tosh2048 I remember reading an article on those Grand Cherokee's with the 5.9 in Motor Trend, back when they first came out. I'm quite certain that they did 0-60 in 7 flat, or even 6.8, with the AWD. Thats what I remember, anyway.

  • @Tosh2048 its not 6000lb i have a 97 grand cherokee v8 too, its around 3500lbs, give or take a few hundred lbs

  • @tilley9898 no its not .. most modern cars are heavier

  • @leafsrule16 well mine is registered at around 3500, give or take a few hundred. and its bone stock.

  • @tilley9898 weird .. i always thought they were in the 4500 plus range.. my dads impala ss weighs 4200

  • @leafsrule16 depends which year and all, the curb weight on most zjs is around 3500, give or take a few hundred...at least thats what the scale said on mine and thats what jeep says in its book lol

  • I got a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (ZJ). 195,000 miles and it cruises great at 99 mph!

  • 100mph @ 3000rpm with 30's, It's a 93' ZJ V-8 w/ exhaust cut outs, 230,000 mi and still solid as a rock, Jeeps are the most BA vehicles on the road

  • Is that 217,000 miles on that thing?? Wow, runs really good for that many miles.

  • nope Kilometers. And I dont own this beast anymore. I have a 2004 Acura TSX

  • floor it

  • ya you might wanna get that checked out the transmisions go out in them jeeps at like 100,000 mine went out at 105 its a 97 jeep grand 4.0

  • I have 150,000 miles in mine now. 240,000 kms. Its still fine..

  • whats with your transmission? acting little bit strange

  • What do you mean? Its a 4 speed auto like all ZJ's.

  • I know, but looks like at 100 it shifted twice

  • ooh that. I let off the gas. The speed limit was only 80..lol

  • he probably just let off the gas

  • My dads '98 has pretty much all original parts except we had to replace the alternator. It has about 182k on it but the tranny seems to slip when we get on the highway.

  • If im not mistaken that temp gauge was a little on the hot side 220+ F* if i read correctly hehe

  • Probably was. I got a new water pump and rad at 229,000 kms (142,000 mi). The rad was leaking constantly.

  • I have 210500 miles on my 5.2 v8 and it still runs like new.

  • wow. thanks that gives me some trust in my engine :)

How many miles do you usually get out of the tranny? I've got 231,000 kms (143,000 miles) now. All i've replaced is the rad, water pump, and fuel pump within the last 10k kms

  • Replaced the Tranny at 110,000 and it has had two water pumps and a radiator. Still has the original alternator. Is the fuel filter on top of the gas tank?

  • How did you know your tranny was going? was it just slipping or hard to shift? I wanna know the symptoms. The fuel pump and filter are one piece and you cant buy them seperately. And yes it is on the top of the tank. My friend had it completely done in about 45 minutes. I still have a problem with the pump but I hear this is very common with ZJ's. It doesnt want to idle sometimes and takes awhile to start even with the new pump/filter.

  • Of all the American V8s, Chryslers tend to be of the best quality. The old LA (318, 360) will run 250,000 easy if you keep up on maintenance. I'm not knocking Fords or GMs...but I've never had bad luck with a Chrysler V8.

  • if it reads 10kph to high its 72 mph cos 100 kph is 62

  • Wow 200000+ Miles!

  • no its 217,000kms..which is 135,000 miles. How long do these 318 engines last anyways? My old 91 cherokee had 375,000kms (233,000 miles)on it when I sold it (needed a clutch)

  • you dont have to worry cause even 233k miles is nothing on a 5.2 liter V8

  • km/h. and the speedo reads 10km/h too high at 100 (so its really 90)

  • is that mph or kmph?
