  • Bill, great video. When I had my first test, they said I never got enough good sleep to get a baseline. I had to go back for a second test. The second time (with the cpap, I only remember waking up one time). I LOVE my cpap machine. Difference with & without it is like night and day (no pun intended.) Thanks for the video.

  • @goombahboy I decided to risk it. No problems so far.

  • I'm a polysomnography student. Great video. It's cool to see things from the patient's viewpoint.

  • @vintagesoulbox Thank you. I never thought of the video as a teaching tool from the point of view of a student. I am glad you watched and liked it.

  • @vintagesoulbox You're welcome. How much do you get from the patients for not revealing their dreams?

  • bill wht was on the bed at 6.03....lol

was it something happened while deep sleeping...just joke

  • good video. i have to go in for a sleep study tomorrow. he answered all my questions and added some humor. i was wondering can you sleep on your stomach or side i can't fall asleep on my back at all

  • they made me sleep on my back for a while to induce apneas. otherwise I didn't have them.

  • @wildbill1911A1 hola bill,,, espero que esté bien.. usted es muy guapo... saludos desde Copiapó CHILE...

  • TY for that teeth brushing reminder-- my down fall is that I love watching films and tele, and I eat. . . then fall asleep on the couch. Four hours later I wake up, THEN brush my teeth. .. very bad! My daughter says I breathe from my chest now(because of weight) and that is why my singing voice changed. Perhaps fat causes Sleep Apnea too. MArk's Goatee is way sexy. Have you tried swimming everyday plus relaxation techniques?

  • I'm sure Mark will be happy to read that! I don't have access to a pool, so I run.

  • My dad has sleep apnea and he's been on the machine for a few years now. i dont know how bad his is so i cant be accurate on how his condition is. good luck with the test, uncle will.

  • Thanks. Results to follow in a week or so.

  • I'm still in denial. I know I snore a bit, but don't want to have Disruptive Sleep Apnea.

  • My dad had the same problem before too, and he also had to go to the hospital to be tested. I don't remember what happenned next, but I know that he snored so loudly that my mom stopped sleeping with him for several years.

  • It's a bit sad, eh?

  • Oh, I remember now what happened after the test.

He had to use some kind of breathing machine every night(a small one, not the big one like in the hospital... maybe the size of a small vacuum cleaner).

  • What I thought I knew about it is that the spelling was different. "sleep apnoea" Seems both are good.. acceptable.

So question.. With all that stuff ans wireing on you.. how DO you sleep? Pill?

  • No, I just closed my eyes and went to sleep.

  • Amazing. They'd have to knock me out.

btw: People dwho die in their sleep? I believe in half the cases apnnoa is what did it (though may be caused by something else)

  • ok, this one's a great vid. i'll be waiting for the results.

  • Thanks. Me too.

  • Nice video.

I previously had trouble feeling "refreshed" after a full night's sleep, even after sleeping 9 or 10 hours. Seemed to be a form a sleep apnea, one would assume. Started taking Tylenol PM before bed, and now feel great, even after like 6 hours. So probably previously had interrupted sleep, which the TPM is preventing.

  • Thanks for the comments. I was taking 'red wine by mouth' as a relaxant. It works, but is not always the best idea, in volume.

  • They say that TPM isn't addictive. I'm just hoping....

When I first started with it, I would skip it if I was really tired before going to bed. But then I wouldn't get a good night's rest. So now I take it regardless of how tired I am, and feel great, and am overall healthier, as well.

Now I just need to lose those pounds...

  • interesting. I thought sleepapnia was when you can just keep on sleeping for ever LOL.yes I can imagine how comfortable all those wires were.Slep on your back? doesn't that promote the symptoms of sleepapnia? Im 100% on my side or stomach and FYI those positions increase disgestion speed, so you're less likely to...gain weight while you sleep I guess?

  • My father has that and it totally freaks my mom out...she says he stops breathing for quite a while and she has to nudge him awake.

    Great vid Bill.

  • I'm hoping losing some weight and being more fit will help.

  • Hi Bill, My husband has sleep apnea. His is really bad. He tried bipap machines to no avail....ifficult to sleep with.. very cumberson. Will be interesting on how your test results went. Will be following closely. Thanks for taking us with you on your testing. Very informative.

  • I hope it helps someone. I will post the results.

  • Very interesting! I don't know how you get all these people to be so cooperative! Good luck!

  • Some people find me charming and amusing, and harmless, so they play along with me filming my silly videos.

  • My dad has the same problem. He just went to doctor and they said he is in the risk. Take it easy and stay safe B!

    Larry

  • So, what was the treatment for your Dad? Did he have a sleep study?
