if it launched from sea, it cannot be PAC series of missile, or short ranged sea sparrow, or rolling frame missile (either is ground based or too short of a range). from the smoke trail, it looked like a medium range missile then that has to be SM (standard missile RIM66) series of surface to air defence missile. it should be the new developed SM6 or (RIM174A). the navy usually do not randomly launch its weapon untill it is for testing or military exercise because SM does cost a lot.
also you cannot say its a cruise missile because it did not adjust to sea level skim mode which happen to a typical "tomahawk". so no fell off of 1st stage, as you guys probably can see, its rocket engine's flame are not very visible. a typical ICBM would have huge exust flame and clearly visible after miles. that video does not look anywhere alike ICBM launchs. as I said, its best possiblities is a surface to air defence missile. how can that general miss to see that?
if you say from an expert's eye, you will see that this video is missing something. we have no idea what launched the missile because missile trail covered up the launch system. so how did that general confirm that it was launched from a sub? how can he did not confirm that it could be a surface warship? also from the entire clip, you see no evidence of falling objects which can subject to 1st stage of the ICBM.

as i said, it is not a sub launched ballistic missile. by that time if it is a ballistic the first stage would fell off, and 2nd stage is ignited. from that tiny smoke trail you can tell that it is surface to air defence missile. my best guess is that it is a "SM6" or RIM174A with operation range of 300km-400km midcourse anti ballistic capable.
ICBM's are tested all the time. Some even have a range of over 6,000 miles. This means USA and China always fire over other territory when they test them since both countries are not 6,000 miles long. Only Russia can do it by firing from Murmansk to Vladivostok and remain over their own territory.

if it launched from sea, it cannot be PAC series of missile, or short ranged sea sparrow, or rolling frame missile (either is ground based or too short of a range). from the smoke trail, it looked like a medium range missile then that has to be SM (standard missile RIM66) series of surface to air defence missile. it should be the new developed SM6 or (RIM174A). the navy usually do not randomly launch its weapon untill it is for testing or military exercise because SM does cost a lot.

also you cannot say its a cruise missile because it did not adjust to sea level skim mode which happen to a typical "tomahawk". so no fell off of 1st stage, as you guys probably can see, its rocket engine's flame are not very visible. a typical ICBM would have huge exust flame and clearly visible after miles. that video does not look anywhere alike ICBM launchs. as I said, its best possiblities is a surface to air defence missile. how can that general miss to see that?

if you say from an expert's eye, you will see that this video is missing something. we have no idea what launched the missile because missile trail covered up the launch system. so how did that general confirm that it was launched from a sub? how can he did not confirm that it could be a surface warship? also from the entire clip, you see no evidence of falling objects which can subject to 1st stage of the ICBM.

as i said, it is not a sub launched ballistic missile. by that time if it is a ballistic the first stage would fell off, and 2nd stage is ignited. from that tiny smoke trail you can tell that it is surface to air defence missile. my best guess is that it is a "SM6" or RIM174A with operation range of 300km-400km midcourse anti ballistic capable.

ICBM's are tested all the time. Some even have a range of over 6,000 miles. This means USA and China always fire over other territory when they test them since both countries are not 6,000 miles long. Only Russia can do it by firing from Murmansk to Vladivostok and remain over their own territory.

It looked like they were preparing to launch. They also used an EMP bomb to neutralize an American Carnival ship in the middle of the ocean. It had to be towed back.
