BTW you can use the gameshark 2 to confuse the PS2 so you can swipe it with the burned game instead of blocking the sensors and stopping the motor and all that jazz.

I don't know if anyone's gonna see this, but anyway.....so my cousin game me a downloaded version of Resident evil 2 and 3 for ps1, but I don't have the original games, and I noticed that you used a crash game (or what ever it was)  as a driver for the final fantasy 7 downloaded copy....so my question is...does it matter which game you use before you put in the downloaded?? Sorry if this is like a really retarded question, but I just really wanne play them ^_^

@BanjokazooieBeta That's good IF you wanna play it in parts, OR have it not work. A regular CD-R - CD-WR can only hold up too like 700MB...most games (Like Star Ocean) Are like 4.33GB in size...a DVD-R-W Would only be the logical explanation here.

if you want a ps1 game work on ps2 console just simple ...and WITHOUT Tissues or Straws...Just click turn the ps2 on TWICE and of course make sure the sp1 game is inserted...and it will start automatically :)

If you have uLaunchELF or psxlauncher installed, you can easily stop the disc instead of "hot-swapping", which can cause unnecessary wear and tear over time. I have a v5 PS2, so I can't boot PSX games this way -- I would need a chip or swap disc do to the checks that are performed on the older model PS2s, or one of the newer revisions v9 and up.

@asobermindisawasted1 Yes but those programs require you to do a cogswap. But i think the mod chip bypasses the check. The only problem is that you have a higher chance of screwing the ps2 up trying to put the damn thing in than just disk swapping.

Cogswapping isn't necessary on a phat if you have an aftermarket flip-top, which I have, and cogswapping isn't even applicable on the newer slimlines like the one in this video. If you have a means of running PS2 'back-ups', then you will more than likely have the ability to run these .elf files. If that's the case, why put strain on your hardware when it's unnecessary?

You were discussing "cogswapping", which I replied on, and not game compatibility. It still doesn't change the fact that the hardware COULD BE damaged by forcibly stopping the drive; that was my original premise. But even if the compatibility rate for ulaunchelf is say... 40%, it still lowers the possible chance of causing irreversible damage.

I've read elsewhere, the disc you use for boot could also cause compatibility issues and glitches. I'm guessing it has something to do with the TOC, but I could be wrong.

Game loads to main menu but then i can't do anything. If I try to load game or start new one, game will freeze.

I've tried two different versions of this game, so it can't be corrupted image file or something.
