  • I have converted to Shinto.

Christianity wasn't suiting me very much. :(

  • lots going on in this video O_o

  • This is such a poetry. It's not like - let there be earth and there was earth ;] That is lazy :P I like shinto myth much more :)

  • Such an eye opener, it's a beautiful religion and would like more insight of it too. Thank you for the upload

  • cool religion. now i know where dragon ball z comes from

  • myth? my family believes this! it is no myth to them. But well told, nonetheless.

  • memoirs of a geisha. i luv this movie!

  • Can I pray to Shinto gods?

    How?

  • not sure but i think you do have to clap in you hand a few times close youre eyes and pray. and mayby bow first.

thats all i know mayby you most search wiki about this or watch more of these vids.

  • Is most common to pray at jinja (shrine), but if you are not in Japan, it is unlikely to find one nearby.

But when praying (otherwise from place), it is common to bow twice, and clap your hands twice so that the gods hear you. Then, bow again after prayer.

Also, there are prayer plaques (ema) that a prayer is written on, but they are hung in the shrine, so I am not sure if you are able to do this.

  • @salz83

shinto gods are everywhere, ghosts, poltergeist, spirits,

all spirits are kami, all kami are gods, from weak to strong, from a tree spirit to the sun spirit Amaterasu

  • I always loved how Shintoism was like, about everything had a soul and..well I forget and cannot explain sadly. I watched a fan made one about shinto, amazinly they got "amaterasu" right but said "shinto" wrong, they said it like ( Shin-Two ) I quickly went to another vid seeing that that was fan made, this looks real :D

  • pretty(^^)

  • I believe the Shinto stories to be True..To me to me..But I pray to Amaterasu..She had once come into my dreams and saved me from my own personal demons..she watches over my mother and father who are kami spirits now....As she the holy mother to come to me..gives me a better purpose in life and this world..I wrote a song to praise her name...called..Goddess whom we Praise...Shinto for me is my religions and I don't consider it myth.

  • @Akirameerkat

very interesting story you have, i follow susanoo because i always had love for the sea, may your family kami be in peace~~~

  • shinto is the best religion ever it's beautifuland peaceful!i love it so much!best video i have ever seen

  • The actress in this video is Chinese-American and probably knows as much about Shinto as my left elbow.

  • zhang ziyi is not chinese american shes chinese han

  • @jasonracey LOL The actress is Zhang Ziyi and she is Chinese and the film they are showing is called "The memories of a Geisha" and that is the film where she is acting, she is not a Shrine Maiden, she is a Geisha!

This film is not associated with Shinto myths!

  • @naters120 jaa the film itself is not associated with shinto myths.... i made the video merely for my project in grade 10... i just put together random videos of japanese things that made it look good :S sorry guys... i got a lot of comments about the geisha and the shinto thing.. i didn't know it would be that big of a deal :S

  • People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Same goes for people who follow glass religions. Which is to say, all of them.

  • I have a question, if a religion prompts love and appreciation of "Gods" creations, it seems that when someone starts calling others to repent from their "demon" ways, they should examine their own heart. Thanks for the video, it was great.

  • a love taiwan;go hong kong

  • Would have been nice if you had qualified why Shinto needed to be distinguished from Buddhism and maybe stated that most Shinto academics believe it to date some 25,000 years.

  • I hope shinto will contribute to the world coorporation.

  • thanks

  • Let's hope we do well on it! aja aja

  • *jaja* Nice!! ^0^ We'll so ace the presentation!
