As long as you remember these are US pronunciations (though it mainly affects the vowels), this is good.
Up to the early 17th century in England and much later in Scotland, those unvoiced "ed" sounds were often spelled "it" and sometimes even " 't". I say often because there was no standardised spelling then. Samuel Johnson is mainly credited with introducing standardisation. He has a lot to answer for! He stopped us from being able to read people's accents.
Let say that this is one of the best videos about learning english i've ever seen. I've studied English many years ago and this video refreshed my memory. Thanks a lot teacher. :D
Very good video for novice or beginner level learners. Of different country or just building the groundwork in general, this is a very nice production and may be taken seriously for actual institutions for education in the English language.
ok im more confused than i was before i searched for the -ed ending. when you compare the voiced and unvoiced at the end it sounds like the left column has a shorter vowel sound and you're dragging the right side word with a longer vowel sound. does that influence the end sound?
this is a stunning video for beginners. congratulations teacher, for those who's asking for id pronunciation , remember verbs ended in d o t , like end or want for example.

great videos, last time i checked you had 327 videos, now you have 328.
everyday i always visit your youtube page to see if you upload a new video.
i hope you'll post intensive tutorial about: "has, have, had"..
i already watched your video about HAS, HAVE, HAD but i'm still confused between:
" i HAVE HAD think of it" and " i HAD HAD think of it"..
sorry if my grammar is wrong but my real concern is why there are some sentences having two "HAD? " thanks paul

I've got the same question: what about ID , D endings???Many thanks
MrAntidot 2 years ago
The "id" ending only comes after words that end in "d" or "t," such as "needed, weeded, wanted, painted."
