Nope the ppl that said Ke$ha made the song is correct!! she made a demo for this song and it got leaked onto the Internet, Girls generation found the song and wanted to do it! It was on the news!!! Soooo its Ke$has song first AND THEN Girls Generation got to it.
@XxMikuNekoChanxX Not true. Ke$ha made indeed a demo, and I don't know if she wrote it or not, but I think it was not her. She didn't want to sing the song, so SM Ent. bought it and songwriters changed it for SNSD. :)
Okay, so from what I heard, SM bought this off kesha and gave it to SNSD to promote it so it was originally Kesha's. And obviously they re-wrote the whole song so this isnt what snsd is saying in their version of it.
@iFlyleah1 no. Someone in the producing industry wrote this song. They asked kesha to sing it, but when she recorded a demo version, she didn't like it, and they didn't like her voice with it. So it wasn't her song. Then the producing industry gave it to SNSD instead. They recorded the official version. This version that kesha recorded was leaked, it was never meant to be given to the public.
@purplehairponcho i did some research just then, and it was revealed on allkpop that kesha recorded a guide version of it in 2008 and it did leak on youtube. so yeah, snsd was the official version of the song. lol, sorry i just found out recently and didnt do much research till now. :) but im pretty sure they re-wrote the song though..
Cool, but you wrote "But now I'm coming next to you" That made me crack up if you guys know what I mean :P xD It should be "But now I'm coming after you" or this might be very wrongly understood ^^
@kpopluverr Well actually the true creater of run devil run is actually Ke$ha. Then SNSD bought the song from ke$ha and they just changed the lyrics abit and translated that to korean. Soo the original creater was ke$ha... At least from what I have been seeing...
@LpsProductionFilms not creater just a demo ver singer she just sang a demo ver of rdr and producer or watevas didnt ike it and sm bought it so its snsd's song

@IIXMagicXII No what i mean is I like this one better because I can understand it and sing along with it. I was trying to say that i would probably prefer snsd's over kesha's if i spoke the language, because it is kind of better.
yah i like this cuz i can understand the english and even tho im korean i cant really understand the korean Girls generation too much lol i <3 소녀시대!!!
for detailed information, refer to the following article.
U.S. pop star Ke$sha in 2008 had recorded the guide track for "run devil run", which was later leaked on YouTube but snsd will be the first artist to officially release the song written by dsign music(Busbee, Alex James and Kalle Engstrom)
@MyMindlessMelodies Really?Quit trolling!>.< ..If you don't like this one,why are you listening to it?!It's obvious you have nothing better to do!-____-
The song was composed by Busbee of USA, Alex James of UK, and Kalle Engstrom of Sweden. Ke$ha recorded a guide version BEFORE her debut because of her relationship with one of the composers. Guide versions: recorded songs usually by a different artist to help sound recording, with usually no intentions of official releases by the recorder. Ke$ha's version leaked onto Youtube and action was taken to delete them, but some remain. SM Entertainment bought the song rights for Girl's Generation first.
kesha's was never official. she recorded a DEMO in favor of a friend who happens to be the composer for that song. the composer put the rights of the song Run devil run for sale and SM Ent bought it. now its snsd's OFFICIAL song. stop misunderstanding. spread the word.
@PopRockerPrincess, The song was originally recorded by American recording artist Ke$ha as a demo in 2009. Ke$ha's recording of the song, which was in full English, was leaked onto the internet in 2009. It was written by American and European songwriters Alex James, Busbee, and Kalle Engstrom.
@MsYuka09 NO its ke$has. Its her leaked song. Do u really think ke$ha knows anything about kpop. I asked her on twitter if she wrote run devil run and she did.
Run Devil Run" was released as a digital single on January 9, 2010.The song was originally recorded by American recording artist Ke$ha as a demo in 2009. Ke$ha's recording of the song, which was in full English, was leaked onto the internet in 2009. It was written by American and European songwriters Alex James, Busbee, and Kalle Engstrom. The song, however, was first credited to S.M. Entertainment. Though SMent owns the rights to the song, Ke$ha is also credited to the English version.
Does it really matter who who wrote it first? It's a good song, isn't that enough? I mean, I like SNSD's version better, but that's just because I find Kesha says "run" too much. But they're both good and deserve appreciation. You really care, then do research on reliable sites, not go by what people tell you, because they could be just as wrong as you.
Ok, I'm putting an end to all the stress. Ke$Ha wrote the song, but gave it SNSD. They recorded it while Ke$ha only made a demo. No one stole anything! Ke$ha also wrote another song, 'Boy Like you', but gave it to Miranda Cosgrove. She's just helping out fellow musician's. Personally, I love both verions, but either way, there's going to be opinions.
this is snsd's song not kesha. kesha is probably just translating it . if it was kesha y havent it been popular n noticed? it is officially snsd's song not kesha's
Okay after reading the comments i just had to put my input. ok first off i didnt even know of keshas version of "run devil run" until recently which means it was never offically released which means it may just be a demo...for all you people saying she copied CHILL OUT she didnt not copy.if you want to talk about copying dont even get me started on all the kpop artist who have got in trouble for plagersim of american songs in like the past 2 years! btw im kpop fan im not knockin it just sayin.
Of all artists in America to do this song, I think KESHA is probably the best. 8D However, I think this song sounds better when there's a lot of singers as opposed to one, but that's just my opinion.
So, I'm confused. How did both SNSD and Kesha have the same song? Like did Kesha make an English version for them, or did like SNSD make their own version in Korea? OR! Did they speak with each other and like agreed to do two different versions of it? I am so confused!! DX
@Chipz1515 kesha did this song as a demo for SNSD as a guide on how the song's gonna be sung.. the owner (friend of kesha) apparently sold this song to SME, the company where SNSD is.
This is the demo to SNSD's Run Devil Run. Ke$ha had no part in making the song. She just did the producers a favor and sang the demo.
And all of the people who think that the SNSD's version is better, let me just say that you are comparing the rough draft to the final version. Of course the final one is going to be better than the demo. So stop camparing and be happy that you can sing it in english :D
Hey you guys SNSD fans mostly you all need to calm down and stop saying the stuff your saying because if they came on one of SNSD's videos they would be spammed so be in consideration of their videos too. :)
It's not plagiarism for SNSD because Ke$ha sang a "guide" version and she has no rights to that song. SNSD made the official song. They didn't cooperate to make it. Many composers who were friends with Ke$ha came together to make this song. & because Ke$ha has close connections to the composers she was able to sing the "guide" version for it. No one copied one another. SNSD own the rights to the song as in Ke$ha just sang the "guide" version.
SOME OF YOU MAY THINK ITS THE SAMETHING ITS JUST IN ENGLISH....ITS NOT THAT, I LIKE KESHA VERY MUCH BUT THIS SONG SOUNDS WAY BETTER WHEN GIRLS GENERATION DANCE AND SING IT. SNSD LOOK SO HOT AND SEXY IN THE RUN DEVIL VIDEO....WOW!!!!! SORRY KESHA BUT NO!!!!!!
Personally i am a big fan of both Kesha and SNSD. YES this is Kesha's song and it's in English. YES SNSD is kpop and it's in korean. If you prefer SNSD, please watch their videos instead of posting hate comments about Kesha. If you prefer Kesha, then please stop posting hate comments about SNSD. However there are some of us who like BOTH of theses artists and happen to enjoy this song, whether it's in korean or english, so please keep your hating to yourself, thank you!!
@TSMkanitah THANK YOU for saying exactly the same as I was thinking. What I find funny about all the hate on Kesha, is that if you hear the songs mixed, it sounds like one of the girls from SNSD is just switching to singing in English. I couldn't tell you which one, as I'm not a big enough fan to know them all by name and pair names with voices, but Kesha does sound EXACTLY like one of the girls.
WTF is wrong with you obessed SNSD fans..? it sounds the same only thing is that its in fucking ENGLISH! so for those who know nothing about kpop or that it was also sang by SNSD.....you guys need to stop with the stupid rude and not needed comments about kesha. Out of all the kpop artist fans.. SNSD fans have to be the RUDEST and CHILDISH fans ever like stop with the bullshit and just enjoy the song and if you have nothing good to say then SHUT UP, better yet don't listen at all and just leave.
@MsYuka09 do you think like that really :S Are you okey ? I really love Kpop but some of them like "girls generation" or coed school or Ft Island or blah blah steal so many american or british song :S and if you search little you'll learn Whose is this song
@PopRockerPrincess um, actually no...Girls generation owns the song. This is actually a demo that Ke$ha did, but the company sold all rights of the song over to SM......
I think SNSD is better =D

Of all artists in America to do this song, I think KESHA is probably the best. 8D However, I think this song sounds better when there's a lot of singers as opposed to one, but that's just my opinion.
xxxamewarashi 1 year ago
So, I'm confused. How did both SNSD and Kesha have the same song? Like did Kesha make an English version for them, or did like SNSD make their own version in Korea? OR! Did they speak with each other and like agreed to do two different versions of it? I am so confused!! DX
Chipz1515 1 year ago
@Chipz1515 kesha did this song as a demo for SNSD as a guide on how the song's gonna be sung.. the owner (friend of kesha) apparently sold this song to SME, the company where SNSD is.

@xenocentricism Ooohhh! That makes a lot of sense. Thanks! ^^

Does it matter which version is better?
I've yet to watch a youtube video where people aren't commenting/arguing over something trivial. -_-
You like Kesha's version, listen to Kesha.
You like the version by Girls Generation, go listen to that one.
Stop arguing, flaming and complaining. Just watch the video.

I don't like kesha. she's wird. But since I love the Girls Generation version, thought I'd check out the song. My opinion is still the same.

Yeah, so this may be Ke$ha's song, so what? SNSD made it sound better..Wait...YEAH definetly.
Even if you're not a huge K-Pop fan, the song is still good either way. But for SNSD's their version is more fierce. JUST saying.
& yeah, I'm a fan of both, but just more of SNSD.

TSMkanitah 1 year ago 2
@TSMkanitah THANK YOU for saying exactly the same as I was thinking. What I find funny about all the hate on Kesha, is that if you hear the songs mixed, it sounds like one of the girls from SNSD is just switching to singing in English. I couldn't tell you which one, as I'm not a big enough fan to know them all by name and pair names with voices, but Kesha does sound EXACTLY like one of the girls.
KazehanaAyame 1 year ago
@KazehanaAyame Ikr?? Her voice is that AH~mazing. :O I think she sounds like Sooyoung or maybe Hyoyeon. but it's like super hard to tell for me. >.<
TSMkanitah 1 year ago
WTF is wrong with you obessed SNSD fans..? it sounds the same only thing is that its in fucking ENGLISH! so for those who know nothing about kpop or that it was also sang by SNSD.....you guys need to stop with the stupid rude and not needed comments about kesha. Out of all the kpop artist fans.. SNSD fans have to be the RUDEST and CHILDISH fans ever like stop with the bullshit and just enjoy the song and if you have nothing good to say then SHUT UP, better yet don't listen at all and just leave.

I like both SNSD and Ke$ha, but quite honestly its SNSD that does this song MUCH MUCH better. Ke$ha makes the song feel a little too sleazy.
