  • nice dragon...i like it

  • I love how the little one in the background is asking "is it bedtime?" He sounds just like my daughter! I got a little chuckle out of it. That is a big project; and i love the lap scroll. I need one of those :) I am doing a project myself and it is probably half way done :) Cute video!

  • I did the same Dragon and Castle cross stitch by Teresa Wentzler but I did mine on the back of a denim jacket on waste canvas. It took forever, but looks amazing. I get compliments on it whenever I wear it.

  • My wife just explained how waste canvas works and I think that must look stunning on a denim jacket.

  • Hi scrumsrus, I have that same cross Stitch picture on my wall my sister did it for my Birthday

  • where did you get the frame? cant get a decent one anywhere

  • i got mine from a cross stitch cataloge called Needlecrafts with cross stitch, they are normally a leaflet in cross stitch magazine. The stand i am using is made by Lapman. It is a lap frame with clips to secure your stitching and it comes with a carry case Total cost c. £50.

    We hope that helps,

  • many thanks. great stitching by the way!!

  • hey dont you hate terezas charts? i have peacock majesty and peocock tepestry and have started neither, i am frightened by the fractionals.

and hey thats no mess you should see my threads.

  • Unfortunately they are like backstitch you have to do it to make it look good. That was only a small sample of my threads for the wee bit of the project I was working on. I have a full set of DMC threads and a huge pile of other makes which are not kept at all tidily along with all the kits and bits and bobs I have for my sewing and my Mother in law has a pile of books for me (Sometimes she has material and other stuff too).

    Hugs & Kisses,

  • It has also taken me over ten years to pluck up the courage to start this design. I must admit it is a definite challenge with so many colours. The picture also looks a lot lighter than the actual piece of work and difficult to visualise what it will actually look like once all the backstich is done to give it the 3D effect.I am on the last hurdle now and just have the left hand wing to complete then the backstiching, if i ever see another quarter stitch i will scream.

  • Snap... lol

I know exactly how you feel. Post a video when you finish it so we can see that it's all worth while. I hope you finish it soon.

    Hugs & Kisses.

    Sylvia (Mrs. Scrums)

  • I've just started this one!

    Have you finished it yet?

  • Not this decade.... lol

I have this one sitting around for 14 - 15 YEARS before I plucked up the courage to make a start on it, about a year ago. I only get a chance to work on it for about an hour at a time maybe 2 or 3 times a week, so it's a really slow process, or and I have 3 or 4 on the go at the same time.

    Good luck with yours

    Hug & kisses

  • I spend my Saturdays with mine, I'm doing a Stitch Along on it with other TW fans.

I'm a huge TW fan and have done a fair few of her designs and have had the honour of meeting her a few years ago

  • You both are so cute :)

I have that pattern! Great job :)

  • Thats another first. My kids are sometimes cute but not my husband. How long have you had the pattern? Its taken me over ten years to be brave enough to start it. Hopefully it wont take me that long to stitch it, but saying that I do have one piece that has taken me over 15 years to do and it is still not done. Hugs and kisses Mrs scrums

  • Welcome my love into this wonderful family. Oh the patience you must have. Kez bought me a bag last Christmas which is cross stitch and its still has not been started. I am so overawed with it. I scared to start in case I go wrong from the very beginning. Anyway Welcome my love, you will find many friends here. Take care love :)

  • Hi Jessyca,

If you want to get hooked pick a mag with a small picture to stitch. You'll realise how easy it is and want to progress to bigger ones. All you have to be able to do is count.

I hope you are well today. Take care.

  • That's beautiful Mrs. Scrumsrus!! I used to cross stitch. I've been missing it lately. I too have a piece I started 20 years ago that's not finished! My work isn't half as beautiful as Mrs. S's-that's something to aspire to!

  • Get back to it girl and I am sure it is better than mine. Thank you for your kind words.
