This song is so mellow, so calming, its soothing in a way, the piano accents the vocals, it reminds me of the depressing, saddening song in titanic, yet this, this song is something different, it gives a slight assurance to me, i don't know what kind or why, it just is strange, but i keep listening to this song over and over, and i can't stop. Its calming and soothing. Great song, great artist.
Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein are probably spinning in their respective graves about now. What's this crap? A goth version of Carousel? Too bad the girl can't sing.
You obviously did not listen; there is nothing "goth" about this song. You may have the wrong idea based on looking at the pictures, which were taken ~2 decades after this was written and recorded.
Yes, to the untrained (Or perhaps ignorant) ear, that's exactly what this is. Now go of an play with your professionally trained and extremely boring sounding singer friends while we appreciate real art.
I am looking for Sandy's song, has anyone found that on here? I have the song just wondering if anyone has made a video for it...she sounds so young singing that song too. I love finding these old songs. Thanks for posting!!
I believe she wrote this song while in high school and played it during the intermission of Carousel that her school was putting on. However, I don't know if this is the recording from that time, I suppose it could have been recorded later. The recording been around since she was at least 26, but it's likely an earlier recording.
i wish she would have put this song on the solo album instead of "what's the use of wonderin'".
i know june is busting out all over was inspired by what's the use of wonerin' from the 1945 musical "Carousel.", but i do wish that they would have opted for the Amanda original instead of a cover just because it's so good.

It's an early work by something of a genius, a response to the Carousel song.
Personally, I've always liked Carousel. It describes the way people are rather than how they should be.

Amanda was in high school when this song was recorded that's why she sounds so young.
