  • We Lost A Friend Named Lynn Kimball From Brain Hemorrage , But It's Been Very Tough For Us , It's Something We Can't Redo , Love Scott Orvik

  • The little boy whose name is Patrick tells the dispatcher either "My mama's sick" or "My mom is sick." He wasn't playing he was serious. He knew his mother needed help right away and Patrick asked for it. What a smart kid! Good job Patrick!

  • 911 is a joke. I called once when a neighbor's friend had an epilepsy seizure, and it took them over 1/2 hour before they arrived. When I called them back to find out why they were taking so long, they said, "ohhh, the rescue squad in this town didn't respond, and we're sending an ambulance from (a town 17 miles away)." If the person who needed them was having a heart attack, she would have died!

  • 911 WORKS! There are rare cases where the system doesn't respond as fast as it should but in the end it still works.

On another episode, they explained how they "code" calls, that seizure may have been a Code-2, whereas the town's ambulance could've been on a Code-1 (and more serious) call....like a heart attack?

  • Very good lil kid for calling 911 to save his mom, bless him and his mom.. thank god she lived

  • my uncle died of that

  • thats a brave boy

  • I wonder how she is doing today. I hope she is ok . With her adorable children

  • unfortunately, she passed away about 4 years after this took place

  • Cute little kids =), know what to do, wow, I hope my kids will be like that =O

  • Do you happen to have the episode where a girl riding her bike gets hit by a car?

  • Bless his little heart! He was a smart little boy and so cute! :D I'm so glad the dispatcher believed him and didn't think it was a crank call. Yeah crank callers could cause someone's death either by tying up the phone lines or making someone else not get help because the dispatcher thinks it's the same crank callers when it's really an emergency.

  • that 911 operater isnt very good most of them stay on the phone with you

  • she could have thought it was another prank and hung up and let the mother die... so quit yer bellyachin'

  • He was so smart to not hang up when the dispatcher raised her voice to him and to go flag the ambulance when they arrived. It was cute when he said please after asking for an ambulance. Incredible kid.

  • omg crank call

  • Where I work, we send a cop out to every 911 call, prank or not.

  • does its real?

  • I think parents really should tell their kids that 911 is not to be played with.

  • the first crank call sounds like the person is high on crank.

  • Cute kid.

  • these freakin videos are creepy im scared LOL

  • wow good speaker kid lol

  • 260/170 JFC never heard of something that high.

  • 260/170 :o fucking salad time.

  • That kid was adorable!

Stupid crank callers! If they have to call a real 911-call one day, they are probably gonna get really scared they won´t be taken seriuosly.

  • Prank Calls :] not Crank

  • Now that they can trace crank callers with their computer I think ever home from where a crank call to 911 comes from should get a nice hefty fine! That will will make the parents keep the kids from playing like that!

  • yes and I think the police can charge you with abusing 911

  • Where I am at, we have something called Phase II E911 for cell phones, and they can pinpoint the location almost instantly which is great for people who actually need emergency assistance and for the idiots who prank call. And they can actually go to jail for prank calling 911.

  • a very smart and sweet kid, I love how he said ambulence, he said it like "ambience" hes very cute

  • Hmm, I've been trying to find more info about that 9-1-1 dispatcher who got fired but I can't seem to find any. I did find one about a trainee who after he hung up from a call said he really didn't give a shit what happened to the lady while he was still being recorded, but I can't find anything about the other case.

  • got fired for what

  • OMG! I'm glad he got fired for that! I do remember a sad case on the news where 5 YR old called for help for his mom and the operater would not send an ambulance because she though it was a crank call and the poor kid had called her like 3 times and his mom ended up dying. She should have gotten fired too for that!

  • That's messed up. >:(

  • in aus if u make a prank call to the police they can trace it and fine you for wasting peoples time and if some1 was dieing they could have died while some1 was making a prank call

  • Exactly! Crank calls kill!

  • HAHA! Prank calls not Crank

  • Comment removed

  • 911 IS NOT A JOKE

  • Comment removed

  • 911 IS NOT TO PLAYED WITH

  • pug what are you scruff mcgruff's nephew or something

  • Wow 260/170 is such a high blood pressure!

  • Oh yeah, 260 for the diastolic, and 170 for the systolic, that's about Stage 6 or Stage 7 of Hypertension...

  • patrick is so smart

  • Thank god for call tracking.

  • what would the punishment be for prank calling 911 these days? (considering they can always trace it with enhanced 911)

  • hey allgood2000 is there an episode where a kid is trapped in a trash compactor just curious

  • No.

  • k maybe it was a different show i watched oh well just out of curiosity

  • Shatner says, "The 911 system was designed to speed up the response time in an emergency."

That may have been what they were designed to do, but they didn't follow through. One time, a friend of a neighbor had a seizure, the neighbor panicked, and told me to call 911. Took them over a half hour for the rescuers to arrive. When I called them back, the operator said, "Oh, the rescue squad from New Paltz didn't respond, and we're sending the squad from Kingston" (17 miles away).

  • If somebody were having a heart attack, rather than a seizure, this person would most likely have been killed. Shame on 911!

  • I´m a lifeguard and EMT and I know the situation only too well, when people tell you storys and that sometimes makes it very hard to rake everyone serious.

  • I remember reading about this young boy who was calling for help and the 911 dispatcher rudely told the boy to stop playing around or he was going to be arrested for making a prank call even though the boy was not making a prank call and that his mother was seriously in need of medical attention and could not make the call herself. As the result of the 911 dispatcher's complete disregard for the seriousness of the situation, the mother died.

  • I read online that the dispatcher has been fired and is spending a year in prison. She'll be out in January 2009.

  • Because she almost hung up?

  • I think he's talking about a different dispatcher who treated a call from a child as a prank, and someone ended up dying. You can probably see who he's replying do if you click the view all comments option at the bottom of the screen.

  • There however was a 9-1-1 caller that thought a kid was pranking and his mom died because of it.

Were I live police are coming if you enter the digits 911 on you phone, whether you stay on the line and say it was an accident, whether you called as a prank, whether you hang-up. The police will come not matter what, it's a policy I guess.

  • years ago there was a 911 call and they always say to be calm when ur talking them and telling them whats wrong, and there was a girl who was hiding under the bed and she called saying my sister is being raped and im under the bed. she was being extreamly calm because they always told you too and the operator didnt believe her and never sent an ambulance because she was too "calm" and then girl ended up getting killed.

  • when i was about 16 we had two phone lines we'd called the phone company cause our second line was dialing numbers and hanging up it dialed 911 finaly the phone company fixed our phone they didn't take to kindly to the phone company refusing to fix the line now that both my sisters are moved out and we have cable internet we no longer have the second line

  • GOD, I loved this show!! It was taken off the air though we I was free.

  • *free= three (Typo)

  • 260/170 JESUS CHRIST

  • lol yea really

  • there should be like a $5,000 fine for crank calling 911

  • it should be alot worse than that, because when they were rushing to your "prank" another person who seriously needed it could have been dieing cus they came to ur prank instead of their actual problem

  • I actually heard somewhere a couple years ago, that there was a fine now for prank calls made to 911.

  • o new brunswick theres many rescue 911 videos that take place in new jersey!

  • Life is simple, but people make it hard and complicated. 911 is there for emergencies if people do not use it to call a cop for a date than every call would be taken seriously...

one very mature women called 911 to send the same cop again that was in her house AND THE EMERGENCY WAS " HE WAS HOT AND SHE LIKED HIM"

  • Somewhere here on YouTube should be the 911 tape of that lady.

  • yes

    that is sad

  • Why do these stories always involve a religious undertone?

  • Got me. Kinda gets annoying.

...I didnt know nuns could live at their own house?

  • She's not a nun, but a sister. The fact is that nuns are sisters, but not all sisters are nuns. Nuns live in a community called a cloister. Sisters mostly live in convents, but sometimes, there are communities that let their sisters live together in houses. That's probably what was the case here. :0)

  • So was the brain hemmorage the cause of the high blood pressure, or was the BP the cause of the brain hemmorage?

  • As much as I loved this show growing up, after becoming a fan of "Boston Legal", I can't picture William Shatner hosting something so serious.

  • That mother is very lucky that the kid had ot pranked the operator before. If he had she may have not gotten help that she needed.

  • don't be rude, it doesn't matter about the age!

  • My god, his mother is old enough to be his GRANDmother!

  • he may be adoped ,and the child may not know who his real mother is,,,you hear alot about grandparents takeing care of the g-kids like their own and may find it damageing to the kids to tell them thats also so confussing to kids

  • why did take this show off tv

  • he is sooo cuuuute! And so brave!

  • that boy is so cute. "AMBLEEANCE" aw. haha.

  • Do you have the segment from this episode where a woman falls from a 25 foot cliff while hiking with her boyfriend? If so, could you put that one up?

  • Yes, I have it.

  • rescue 911 is up to 433 votes to come out on dvd, go to tvshowsondvd, com and vote

  • Okay whoever said that this segment should have a song is cruel

  • ooooooooooooooooooooooo i want you to walk

  • what language is Dr. Kareeshi speaking?

  • English

  • I know it's english but it sounds kind of like a foreign language like the phillippines.

  • LOL...ok. The accent he has then, right?

  • Judging by Dr. Kareeshi voice, he sounds like he is from either India or PAkistan. I could be wrong but that's my hunch.

  • what great kids

  • "when i heard the siren and the wroom wroom stuff, i knew it was them"

    :D

  • That little boy is so adorable. And smart!

  • how do you vote???

  • You have to create an account first, if you don't have one already.

  • ok thanx

  • do you like to dub music over movies?, this segment should have that "911 is a joke" song playing over this segment.

  • And The Shat should "sing" it with his spoken word singing!!

  • it seems that shatner likes kids and babies because in the 1st season there seems to be more kid related segments from accidental shootings to this segment.

  • Public Enemy did the song because of their view that EMTs ran late when responding to emergencies in poor and/or predominantly black neighborhoods. Besides that, a little kid just shouldn't be listening to Public Enemy (or parents shouldn't be playing it with their kids in earshot).

  • Madness at the begining happy at the end.

  • I'd Head-Butt the singer into unconsciousness for writing that song.

  • Awz that kid is so adorable o.O

  • Gregorkrause, I'm talking about Public Enemy's classic hit, "911 is a Joke."

  • WHAT A CUTE KID

  • Gregorkrause, I just played a clip of the song you mentioned, and that's what the kids are singing. Evidently, those lyrics were clearly over their heads. The song itself certainly puts a bad message into their minds. It's certainly not appropriate for a little kid to listen to that kind of music.

  • what song?

  • F**K the bastards that wrote and song a song like that. What the hell kind of message is that-saying 911 is a joke? I don't care if it was intended for an adult audience. Kids could still hear it and it's nothing they should be listening to.

  • More than likely the kids probably heard the song on the radio or saw it on MTV and got the stupid idea to do that.

  • mr allgood in your description you put down #318 instead of #221.

  • I fixed it, thanks for letting me know.

  • Precisely.

  • Yes, Patrick is simply adorable. He was a true hero, for saving his mom's life. However, I've always wondered what that other kid was saying on the phone at the beginning of the segment. Can you tell?

Gosh, if only that Detroit dispatcher had believed that little boy like Rosa believed Patrick...

  • you meant the mother who tragically died as the boy desperately calls 911 as the dispatcher decides the call was fake.

  • When did this happen?

  • July 14, 1990.

  • No, I mean the incident where the woman died because a 911 operator thought the call was a prank.

  • sometime around 2002.

  • Ah, I see.

  • i think it was like 2 years ago

  • That dispatcher was an idiot and a b*tch. I heard that 911 call and the kid was insistant that his mother wasn't breathing. She should've sent the ambulance out despite her doubts.

  • auburn4wins, I believe in the crank calls the kids say "911 is a joke in yo town". It's from Public Enemy's old song '911 Is A Joke'.

  • i think he was sayin 911 is not a joke or is a joke one of them two

  • This show has made an impact on sooo many lives that I think it should be on tv and dvd also.

  • I hole heartedly agree with gregorkrause.

  • Yep.

  • "The Ambliance" - how cute is this kid?

  • well hes likely a teen by now.

  • i like the kid's attitude

  • The "brop-brop" noise!
