Unions at one point served a great and noble purpose. I realize we have the current safeguards in labor that we have now becasue of the early unions. That being said, Unions will destroy this country. Their stranglehold on the Auto Industry has bankrupted Detroit. It doesn't matter to them that Detroit loses money on every car sold because of having to pay exorbinant retirement packages. So long as they get theirs. Truly sad.

i WAS a union member. i am a veteran. i got treated better as a lowly E1 then i did as a hump union member. my forman called us neckdowns cause we didnt to use our heads we just followed his orders. i quit and proud to be deploying again as a reservist than being a hump for some ass hole who knows nothing of service. thank you to all who support this countries military.

I don't like unions. We need all 50 states to be right to work states and screw the unions. They care nothing for anyone accept themselves. I was in 2 unions in my life and neither one was worth the ground they walked on. All we need are honest work laws and that's it. People do not have a right to force a company to pay healthcare and retirement. Unions are socialist organizations which in the old days supported people like Hitler and Mussolini. They still do!

As a result,our wages are all less.Several were fired and replaced by people who are in their early 20's.And 2 drivers are making a killing while the other 30 are scraping buy. Union scale starting pay was 17 hourly with benefits and scheduled raises..Now starting pay is 12 dollars.One guy has been here 3 years.No raise.

@barrenpaladin Whatever,Ive worked both Union and non union jobs.The difference that matters is the pay scale.Union jobs pay more.Nobody wants to work for no particular goal.The purpose of work is income.If the income offers no prosperity/savings,there is no reason to work.Non union companies pay less.That is backed up by The US Dept of Labor. The whole "American Dream" is to work and enjoy life.Not struggle.That is for third world countries.
