How is the sick rhino doing? I figured shedding might remove external parasites (including the ones whose names are a homophone to a word in this sentence), but I can see how that wouldn't work when a parasite has buried through the skin completely.
i have always wonderd what happens when one poisons snake bites another poisons snake of the same kind? does it die? or does it have some type of anti venom?
I watch your videos most nights just before turning in. Always glad to see a new one. Did you go to school for veterinary medicine? Or is your expertise from books and your extensive experience? Thanks for the videos! My kids are watching now, too. One of them said, "If he cares this much for these poisonous snakes, I imagine he cares a lot about animals in general." --I thought that was insightful, and most likely, true. Thanks, again!
Great video Al. I like that you show the more tedious and mundane aspects of caring for the animals. Many times people only see the "romanticized" aspect of owning animals like this and don't realize the responsibilities. I find these videos very educational.
Al, Just wondering why you wouldn't use papertowel perhaps for that sick Rhino as a substrate, instead of the bark chips... in order to keep a cleaner envirnment during the healing process?
@viperkeeper Thanks for the reply. I know everything is a crapshoot when they're sick from birth, I'm just hoping the little booger makes it. You're the best.
There was a show on tv the other night don't know if you saw it as it might have been a rerun. It was about venomous snakes. They chronicled the tragic story of Joe Slowinsky(sp?) who died from the banded krait bite and there was a keeper(can't remember his name Todd maybe?) that had been bitten 7 times in his career by bushmasters. Crazy.
@joeycap9999999 That was some crazy stuff getting bitten by a black headed bushmaster 7 times is just crazy. Yeah a Many-banded krait its venom is a rather highly toxic mix of pre- and postsynaptic neurotoxins.
I was at that Hamburg show!! I didnt see you =(

Hoping the little rhino starts to heal up and lives a good life. I wanna see more of the green mambas, kermit in general.

The baby coral cobras are really cute. Even their little hissing is cute :-)
Hope the Rhino Viper heals soon.
I think I remember the part with both sets of babies in it from an earlier video. The others that you showed the mother of are a pretty olive color.
That was pretty funny about the Green Mambas, LOL (including the joke).

From your years of experience can you place a % chance of survival for her?
