Oh I forgot, the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad, the County Fair, two great golf courses, Don Williams, Saylorville and Panora less than an hour away. if you cannot find something to like, you are too hard to please. I wish Austin, TX had these things close by.

anyone that lives in Boone is missing the boat if they think life is better elsewhere. I left Iowa in 1990 and have lived in Houston and Austin. while Austin is a great city, it is a city. Boone has a great state and local park, an awesome town pool, a ski hill and a river to tube or canoe down, a dirt race track that rocks every Friday night, an awesome little league complex, 10 miles from major college sports and 45 from Des Moines. I would bet that there is not a small town anywhere like it

i graduated BHS in 98 and left boone in 99. i live in VA now, and visit rarely. my parents moved to cedar falls in 2000, so i never see boone anymore. it is nice to see mamie eisenhower ave again. i used to live a block away from it. on linn st. i remember hearing that damned speedway in the summer from my house as well. thanks for posting this!

They have a big racing event there where people from all over the US go to at the end of every year.

Yeah, theres a race track miles a way from my house and you can hear the cars every Saturday night.
