@mzeliseee I wouldn't recommend Parallels Desktop for running games like this; Boot Camp would be much better suited simply because it has access to full native speed, full RAM and all VRAM on your system.
The HD 2600 is better because it has dedicated memory; the 9400M borrows memory from the system RAM, thus slowing performance. Nonetheless, the 9400M is still a great card; I run TF2 on it all high and it runs really well.
i play this on my macbook pro running in xp in bootcamp, and i usually get around 70-90 fps. theres a youtube video that teaches you how to do this trick with ur processer that makes you get 20-40 more fps.
Hey i just brought the same imac except with a 320gb hdd and 2gb ram, the video card is a little weak in my opinion but its one fast machine and well worth the money
Yeah I get that, I think I was said it because someone didn't know how Windows handled memory, seemed to think that 4GB would make a world of difference...
Although it doesn't really make a difference in 64bit either...
Well then I have to say I am amazed! I am starting to regret my Dell purchase now... I mean if you can get amazing performance like that out of a Mac that's running in Boot Camp, why would anyone even have a need for PC's anymore?
I bought a PC with the thought in mind that it would be better suited for games... but I was obliviously wrong!
can you play online?

In order:
Bootcamp > Steam > Left4Dead > Play.
Install Steam and Left4Dead after getting Windows running in Bootcamp, and after that you should be fine.

How many frames per second were you getting with that game? Better than 60? Because it looks pretty smooth.

I usually get 39 - 64 fps on this game with vsync off, I have the Same hardware as him besides the ram (2GB)

I have the same imac. But I have only 2GB RAM. Do you think it will be runing on my mac ?
Wot777 3 years ago
Windows 32bit can only recognize 3.35GB ram anyway, it'll run as smoothly as that one does.
therevengeofsaladboy 2 years ago
how do you have a core 2 extreme?

macman2256 3 years ago
does it really make a difference when upgrading the ram to 4
i mean if i played the game on the original 2gb ram
will it lag or something...
BlueSeez 3 years ago
i dont think so but maybe a-little
Park891011 3 years ago
It wont lag once everything is fully running but load times for maps and so forth will be alot faster if you had 4gb as appose to 2gb
NewEra806 2 years ago
Having 4GB of memory is usually pointless unless your running a 64bit OS.
You will never really need anymore than 2.
therevengeofsaladboy 2 years ago
leopard is 64bit

Is there much lag when playing this in boot camp? Cause it looks like it has some lag but it might just be the video.
TechNick1 3 years ago
No lag what so ever, I was very pleased with how it played.

TechNick1 3 years ago
You should have made a custom PC, if you wanted it for games. Much cheaper than a dell or a mac.
My PC cost £400 in the UK when a standard mac is £1100.
therevengeofsaladboy 3 years ago
Yea but you get a solid OS with a mac and amazing quality in hardware.
DaveMorganNZ 2 years ago
But the OS is subjective; I think Vista is an incredibly good OS, it's got everything I need.
Plus I have very high quality hardware for almost 1/4 of the price of a standard mac.
I'd much rather have my PC, but it's up to you.

is boot camp a free program?

Yes, it comes with Mac OS X Leopard and allows you to run Windows on your Mac.
