  • Fallout brought me here.

  • LOL at all these people pretending they're

3-6 years old when they obviously wouldn't have you tube accounts. It was fallout 3 that brought me here but its the song that will keep me coming back. I hope this song lives forever.

  • Im 3 years old and this music is more cooler then justin bieber

  • lol im like 14 and thing song is beast

  • I'm six and I love it, thats why im cool and hip, screw modern culture i'm all mature and thats why you should respect me!

  • I prefer this version over Ink Spot's but both are excellent.

  • I loved that record player! That's why I rebuilt one. To enter a world of awesome non crappy stuff! P.S I'm 14

  • I'm 14 and I love it :D

  • @SlawomirPeszko i agree with you

  • Horace owned property in Las Vegas years ago when I lived there. I believe he owned some of the businesses along Las Vegas Blvd near Bonanza. Nice music.

  • in fallout 3 aparently all music tracks was destroyed besides from some old tracks

  • Best version

  • if fallout 3 was set in the future why do they play this music on three dogs radio

  • @TeslaCuff It takes place in a diffrent world

  • This was the version that I had remembered because of an album my parents had. Loved the ink spots...but I prefered this version the best. Thanks for posting it.

  • @matt011halofan they did

  • In my opinion, this is one of the better songs of the Big Band Era. It was on the Columbia label, and it came out in 1941. The vocals were by Larry Cotton, along with Donna & Her Don Juans.

  • im not here because of fallout...im here because of Megadeth :D set the world afire!

  • FALLOUT 3 FTW!!

  • If you like this watch the fallout 3 teaser. Perfect match!

  • and liveing in thoses days was nice as my grandma tells meh

  • My name is Horace :)

  • I listen to Necro Black Metal, and 40's Big Band... What's wrong with me?

  • eew hairy arms

  • 5 people want to set the world on fire.

  • the 40's? Sexism, Racism and Paranoia of foreign things, the Russians, French, Doo Wop, Say that you like this song and and leave it at that. This song was written by members of the original The Ink Spots. whom do, in my opinion a much better version, but to each his own.

  • time is fucked. was, is, and will be. we're here NOW for a REASON...

  • fallout 3!

  • The one from Fallout 3 is by the Ink Spots

  • TROLL ALERT ON @MYPALROCCO!!

  • @mypalrocco, who pissed in your wheaties, man? The kid's trying to be appreciative of the past, and you're gonna dog him out about it!? You're a prime example of what's wrong with this country... Matter of fact, I'd bet you're a democrat! Liberal scum!

  • Kinda like the version fallout3 uses better

  • Love the song. The music is hauntingly beautiful.

  • im desperate to get that on cd, would you happen to know what album it would be on, i cant find it anywhere. please please please i neeeeeeeeedddddd it.

  • @TheCornflakecake just search it on itunes ;)

  • Fallout 3^__^

Ahh yes. Time! For the news!

  • Tommy Tucker & His Orchestra were the first to introduce I DON'T WANT TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE with vocals by Amy Arnell & The Voices Three. Horace Heidt & His Orchestra with Donna & Her Don Juans , were next to record it. The Ink Spots did their version later. There were a few other versions around the same time period and after. Songs back then could be recorded by anyone, which is great . How can you beat having several different takes on a great song like this one ?

  • @matt011halofan They did, but Ink Spots recorded it a few months after Horace This was the original recording.. In those days, it wasn't uncommon for several artists to record the more popular hits and release them over a short period of time.

  • @gramophoneshane And today, you NEVER see it, and if somebody does do it, it causes a big stir.

  • beautiful record, thank you for posting.

  • I listen to hard rock through heavy metal, yet this is one of my favorite songs...

  • Hey hey dan here ah what a buetifully put together melody it's sooo original unlike most not all music to day I'm 20 and love it I'd play this driving along and not care what people thought that's if I had a car lol

  • Dude, you are the ignorant one here... You feminist... you. Explain to me why you want to trash 50s and 60s in a comment section of a great song by Inkspot.

  • You ignorant youths think the 50s and 60s were free of racism and sexism? Well, think again, you only saw the positive side of life in those times. Have ever you thought of the hardships suffered by the people in that generation?

  • This song is awesome! Even though I usually listen to punk rock. This is... priceless.

  • i take it this is not glen miller? hmm ive been mis-enformed :(

  • too beautiful this one!!

  • Megadeth!!! Intro Song from Set the World on Fire!! =)

  • Indeed, it is. Love that song.

  • This song is on fallout 3

  • we all know that, but people should appreciate the actual song. no hatin on you

  • LOVE IT!

  • WOW what a beutifull song.

  • Cackle! ^^

  • fallout 3!

  • I like this one better than the ink spots one. it sounds waaaayyy more authentic (to the 40s). the ink spots one sounds more like some country piece

  • yeah i was just thinking that when i clicked the video lol

  • agreed

  • is this the original or is the ink spot one the original

  • sorry but the ink spots version is a cover not an original. although i enjoy there version better.

  • this is the original

  • Harlan Leonard and His Rockets(1940) is the original, Horace Heidt covered it in 1941. Then the Ink Spots, also in 1941.

  • fallout 3 ftw

  • I love this song it makes me go in another world.

A world without worry about tomorrow

  • @gamegammler man what a world that would be!

  • Generations like these are priceless, I'm only 17 and I know I would have loved those times, the world is too corrupt by money and sex these day, but what can we do, right?

  • what would you expect to find? the human race today is the same as 70 years ago.

  • dam your so right lmao

  • @Cobain4MyVein:

    I totally think like you.

  • Comment removed

  • you just got 13thumbsup (1 by me :P)

  • nothings changed, everyone was corrupted by money and sex in the 40's. just different people doing the same thing in different forms

  • @Cobain4MyVein Haha, same. There are times when I wished I lived in the 1940-50's. Aside from the racism and sexism, the 50's just seemed beautiful and idealistic. The art, the music, the design. It was all so...glamorous.

  • good ol holsome family values, and Apocalypse

  • @0Genus0 YES! so true

  • @0Genus0 Asides from The Great Depression and World War II sure....

  • @Cobain4MyVein Oh shut the fuck up! You'd fucking die in five minutes without your video games, internet and MTV! I hate fucking stupid kids who think they're kissing up to the old people, we see right through your homosexuality!

  • @mypalrocco And you sound just like "the old people"

  • @pwkn0 Old people know that you're gay!

  • @mypalrocco dude what the hell it your problem!!!!!

  • @chantinginmysleep

I'm not your dude and I wasn't fucking talking to you, asshole!!!

  • @mypalrocco i realize, but the point remains what is you problem?

  • @chantinginmysleep

My problem is that you're an asshole, is that okay?

  • @mypalrocco No not really, because you answer it lacking common sense. you are the one who was going of on someone because they like older times, making you the asshole in this particular situation. therefore the Quinton remains.

    "what is your problem"

  • @chantinginmysleep

My problem is that you love the cock!

  • @mypalrocco your comment is still lacking common sense. therefore the Quinton STILL remains.

    "what is your problem?"

  • @chantinginmysleep

No, you're wrong, common sense, the reason behind "my problem" is legitimate and accurate and so, you can shove "Quinton" up your asshole!

  • @mypalrocco nope still does not cut it. answer still has nothing to do with anything and not answering the now very repetitive question.

"what is your problem?" A ligament answer would be nice.

  • @Cobain4MyVein and soo true, i love old and classic things, espically from the 40s and 50s era, and im only 14, i just wish somtimes life was like it was back then, and + there was lots of corruption back then just only in major citys like las vegas and new york, take al copone for example, he used to bribe NYC police to look the other way when he did some things but again totally agree

  • @Cobain4MyVein YEah! they sure didn't have money and sex back then!

  • @Cobain4MyVein I'm 17, and I'm nostalgic for the 50s too, such a simple and nice time

  • @Cobain4MyVein it was corrupted back then too.

i just turned 17 and i like this song, but i know i would have hated those times because racism was so hard core back then.

  • @Cobain4MyVein

me too dude but these times were MUCH MUCH more corrupt than today you know, and there was a war going on so I don't think you would've liked even if u lived in the USA... imagine having to live through the assassination of your own president.. and through your country launching nuclear missiles on japan.. imagine..

  • @Cobain4MyVein it was then too. you just have to make the best of it. create something beautiful.

  • @Cobain4MyVein The world was just as "corrupted" by money and sex back then. Money, sex, and corruption are the few constants throughout human history. And be thankful for the sex one. You wouldn't be here without it.

  • @Cobain4MyVein I agree, though to a certain point. What we see of the old days are what we see in movies, media, games and the stories told. No man wants to tell their young ones stories about worse times, only about the good times, which is why the older days seem nicer :)

  • @Cobain4MyVein wtf are you talking about, the world has always been corrupted by money, and whats wrong with sex.

  • simply amazing

  • i like this version much but ink spots omfg it is amazing this is great quality for such and old piece of work :P

  • goosebump overdose!! the fact thats its an old LP...... im having a goosebump overdose........!!!!!!!!! 5*

  • i love 50's music now

  • wheres the good version?

  • Funny how everyone has a different favorite - I prefer Way Back Home against the rest of the vanilla GNR playlist.

  • I actually prefer A Kiss to Build a Dream On from the game, but this is a nice mood-setting song too.

  • It is a good mood setting. I love listening in fallout 3

  • Bioshock also has some good artists also.

They have licensed artists of similar nature, like Stanley Black, Django Reinhardt,The Andrews Sisters,The Ink Spots, Bobby Darin, Bing Crosby and so forth. They also licensed some excellent classical like Tchaikovsky.

Even my brother likes the music, and we're 19.

Both games are similar, the style exploits retro futuristic elements, dystopian genre, good plot, deep characters, RPG and combat hybrid game play etc. If you haven't already, try it out.

  • That got style.

  • Song is awsome :D Love to listen to this while exploring the capital wasteland in Fallout 3.

  • Lol! It was my favourite song in the game!

  • Right on! :D

  • lol all of the songs in fallout are from the 1930's

  • Some are, but many are from the 1940s and some from the early 50s. I know this from having an intimate knowledge of pre and post-WWII music.

  • actually this song was made aft WWII in 1940 odd but yeah alot of big band music form that general era is used in that game

  • It says recorded July 24, 1941.

Dubya Dubya Two didn't end til 1946.

  • Obviously, no art was ever created anywhere during "Dubya Dubya Two." Not to mention that it ended 1945.

  • You sir, are a troll.

  • it ended in 1945 jackass

  • Germany were defeated in 1945, but America didn't officially join until the end of 1941, with Pearl Harbour. So from the view of the Ink Spots (I'm assuming the Ink Spots are American, correct me if I'm wrong) this was recorded before the war.

  • The Ink Spots were indeed American - I think they ran from the early 1930s 'til sometime in the late 60s?

Although America 'officially' declared war upon Germany and Italy in December 1941, it wasn't until November 1942 that American troops actually started fighting (in the North Africa campaign.) By then, the war had been going on for 3 years and nearly all of conquerable Europe had been taken by Hitler.

  • well no because wars dont go across all countrys,so the ink spots must of made this song far from a battle, but you still might be correct

  • How old are you?

  • what the fuck? the quality is awesome

  • i wish i was a baby bloomer then i could be at home listen to this without a care in the world

  • It's "baby boomer" not "bloomer."

  • correction, i mean Set The World Afire . . hahaha

  • megadeth! megadeth! megadeth! that's the name...

    why?

    ...

before that Fallout blah blah blah

i already heard this song on Set The World On Fire by Megadeth! \m/

  • i've heard megadeth's song before the game and after it i played, today i was hearing set the world afire and realized "wtf? fallout song?" hahah great!

  • I was thinking the same thing.

Megadeth used part of the Ink Spots version of this song as an intro back in the 80's.

  • bet money, we wouldnt have heard this song if it wasnt in fallout 3

  • I actually heard it on a simpsons episode

  • Then I suggest that you expand you musical knowlege because you are missing a lot. This is or was a very popular song. It is an old standard and a beautiful piece of music.

  • @jonyperezz thx to three dog always playing it when frying ghouls

  • @jonyperezz i agree but why the hell do you have to bet money?? you just have to say it, beting leads into gambaling and that leads into other things that makes the world and espeacially america corrupte, like the guy who has a higher rated comment than yours says

  • fallout 3

  • i bet we wouldn't have heard of it if it werent in fallout 3 lol

  • yall are pathetic. i liked this song before fallout.

  • Liking this song after playing fallout don't make me less of a person, I just wasn't alive during the 40s lol.

  • when I hear this song I want to start playing Fallout :) Great game

  • fallout 3

  • Nothing beats the sound of an old record ;) Impressive work. Thanks...

  • Fallout 3. Thank you.

  • imo this one song defined the Fallout experience for me.

  • DUDE U ARE THE MAN!!!

  • wow, very good !

    Ty !

  • OHMYGODILOVEYOUTHISISSOEPIC :O

The music player cost so fucking much and the CD!

  • its an LP

  • no its actually a 78 rpm record they vere used long before lp records was invented you can check wikipedia for more info

  • i just want to start a flame in your heart

  • this the good type of music instead of this crappy death metal shit we have today, it be great to live in the time this was made. I love this song.

  • LOL great comparrison. It makes perfect sense. Because not only is there just 1 genre of metal, it's the only music that you appear to listen to "today".

  • Are you joking? Metal can be beautiful if you actually know your shit. As for the real crap that all sounds the same, two words. Gangsta Rap. But I agree, this stuff is great.

  • i like metal just a much as the next guy preferably either american grind core or european death/black preferably symphonic, but rap Is also good you just have to try to enjoy a good beat no matter where it comes from. i listen to old country too along with blues, swing, reggae, reggaeton, electronic and all its subs, rock and all its branches even polka you get the idea.

  • im into death metal? theres nothing wrong with it. i like this music too, so stop typing hatred bullshit about music you dont like... its just stupid

  • i guess u typed it wrong. better: (...)so stop typing hatred about music you don't KNOW...

like so many other things, those kiddies just write sh;t about things, they do not really have an idea about.

  • Death metal is the shit. This is good too. Rap is good too. All depends on what artists you listen to because some of them suck and apparently "define the genre".

  • You're such player

  • no way you have that record. That's cool :)

  • I like that you are playing it on the original record.

Makes me feel at ease. Good old fashion relaxation music before everything had to be hyped up.

  • reminds me of my grandparents, they used to play this

  • Makes me want to live in the 50's!

  • more like the forties

  • Comment removed

  • thats his opinion. not trying to be mean, but if if he likes a type of music, let him like it and leave him alone. i, myself, happen to love Forties-Fifties music. and you shouldnt judge me.

  • I wasn't trying to be mean.I'm saying that they are both "oldies" and it doesn't matter when the song came out if you like it.

  • but thats contridictary because you said 'who cares' ? and its also that because 'their both oldies' and 'it dosent matter when the song came out' has a condridicting value...

  • thank you for sharing

  • Hi Liz... just in case you are listening. :-)

  • calms my hyper ass down

  • Actually the original is from "Harlan Leonard and His Rockets". They recorded this song in january 1940.

  • i like the ink spots one better, but this is still relaxing.
