My boston was the same way. One time I tested him by putting a chicken breast on a plate and telling him firmly not to touch it. I went in the other room for 15 minutes and came out. Chicken still there in the middle of the floor with him staring at it. I was amazed that even with the lack of my presence, he still minded me. Yes he got the chicken as a reward.
