In Sheri Anderson's book, John's tattoo was revealed to be made of a special ink that can't be erased... so he had it painted over into an eagle. I wonder if that's gonna turn out to be canonical.

Check out "John's tatoo story" (the mis-spelling of tattoo is important), posted by ValMal1957. Drake Hogestyn talks about the whole tattoo-removal thing, and it's brilliant. :D

It's great, isn't it. :D Getting rid of that tattoo was one of the stupidest ideas they've ever had (and let's be honest, they've had a few). I love Drake H's enthusiasm over the story, and how he hates the idea of the removal as much as the fans did. "It's coming back...!" :D

Darn, is there ANY clip from Days that isn't already on Youtube? Every old clip I have and consider putting on Youtube is already on here. The only difference is that MY clips are shorter and gets to the point faster.
I don't remember John having his tattoo removed. And I alway's loved Cassie. She had a cute face and she was so good at being bitchy. Why did she have to leave Days?

i don't think John had glasses on because he was on his stomach and his eyes were in no danger of being hit by the "laser"..the twins were in danger of the laser hitting their eyes if Craig got bumped or something.

I remember this, but I don't think the writers do. A few years later they showed John with his tattoo back on. ;]

It grew back. It was a homing tattoo. Stefano's clever that way. ;)
Seriously, I think the fans were so incensed, it was just snuck back on again in the hope nobody would notice it had ever gone. Quite right too. :)
