There are about 30K Tajiks in East Turkistan. They are one of most ancient inhabitants there. Their music and dance are well known and loved by East Turkistan people. The most well-known Tajik singer today is Yuksek. He is a celebrity among Turkic speaking peoples in Eat Turkstan such as Uyghur, Kazakh,Kyrguz, Tartar, Uzbek etc. They have able to maintain their unique culture for thousands of years, but today the Chinese invaders are all over their place in their lands. I fear for ther survival.

There are no Tajiks in China. These are not Tajik people but Sarikoli people. Their language (Sarikoli) belongs to the Iranian group, but it isn't Tajik and isn't mutually intelligible with Tajik. In China, the Sarikoli people have been lumped together with the Wakhi (or Wakhan) people under the incorrect label "Tajik" as one of the officially recognized minorities (among many more minorities in realities).
