My mother is taking care of my father who has had Alzheimer's for the last 12 years. This is the 4th family member she had been a caregiver for. She would NEVER think of leaving my father. She is 82, he 85To leave someone like my father would be unquestionable to me. Marriage vows are sacred vows of love, not to be dismissed for inconvenience and/or discomfort. Shame on you Pat Robertson for such a suggestion.

I have wondered for YEARS why Christians are so upset that I have married my husband and why all the fuss surrounding our vows and why the Christians continue having conniption fits and tantrums with the prospect of civil marriage equality for teh Gays. Now I know that we weren't even talking about the same thing. You see, my marriage does include a vow that is something like .....in sickness and in health, till death do us part. I had no idea our vows were so quaint and different than theirs.

Mr. Robertson clearly defines the problem with those people who use God as their marketing tool. People with real depth and real character do not walk away from a situation when it becomes difficult. In my opinion what Mr. Roberston is saying is that this man's sexual urges take precedent over his wife's illness and because she is no longer able to pleasure him she should be discarded like a bag of trash.
