I remember when it was the 60s & 70s. My father made a great living for us as a weigh master in a meat company. Our friends were our friends that came over to our house..(or we to theirs) for dinner & snacks, Just to have fun! Now I'm experiencing w/my 16 year old daughter's friends, Coming over to eat & even using up all my gas in my car because they want to joy ride! Where do I draw the line on this? I did not trust the Bible at first but I soon learned that these books contain earths history written in advance. My husband has his own small business as a subcontractor. We found out yesterday that our "bread and butter" builder filed bankruptcy the day before. Re: The future of this country. I really don't know, I've learned not to make predictions but to instead position myself for a variety of scenarios. I'm a fan of probability theory and risk management. That being said, I don't agree with the simplistic views of a total collapse and post apocalyptic future. De-coupling is nonsense at this point in time, so if the US were to fail catastrophically so would the entire world economy. This country is well positioned in terms of resources and talent.

If financial doomsday comes, I would expect to see major reforms, currency failures, defaults, etc. Eventually it would likely be restructured through new trade and currency unions and there would be a gradual recovery but a much different political-economic landscape.

Those are jobs from large firms..they generally represent about 25-30% of job loss for a reported period..smaller companies / local employers do not factor into those numeber...but generally make up about 70% of the number...not good......900,000 jobs gone this month...my guess.
