  • Oh what kind of camera did you use to record with?

  • @IEATTHECHILDREN Canon SX100IS. Audio recording info is on my channel.

  • Did you edit the actual song at all by taking out the original drum track? If so what program did you use?

  • @IEATTHECHILDREN Nope, at times during the song you can hear the original drums in addition to mine. I just try to mix my drums a bit louder than the ones in the song I'm covering.

  • @drummerhabes Oh really? I didn't even notice the original drums! Any way really good cover :D I'm getting close to actually being able to play this, but I'm not playing as... naturally as you I guess. A lot of my fills seem forced

  • Awesome!

  • Very nice. Trying to learn this song. Is there anyway you can break down that fill you do at 1:40? That is awesome. Good job man

  • @firedrum101 Thanks! That fill is my version of the "Bonham triplet" as some people call it. It's just two notes on the hands and one on the kick. I play it starting with a kick as KLRKLRKRL (just moving down the toms, although it's fun to mess with where you place all of these notes, another variation I like is to play one note of each triplet on the hi hat)

  • @drummerhabes and then ending with one more kick, a flam between the snare and floor tom, and then the crash on the 1 of the next bar. For this fill, I also added another crash on the china on the 2 of the next bar. Adds a little different dimension to the fill I guess. Hope this helps!

  • @drummerhabes Edit, the sticking I noted above should be KLRKLRKLR, not KLRKLRKRL, I mixed up the last two letters. Just to clarify...

  • @drummerhabes potentially the greatest simple fills ever. I call them "open handed triplets".

  • @jazzmasterjesus They are fun and easy to play, while also being easy to fit into many songs musically. I should use them more often than I actually do...

  • @drummerhabes definetly fun! I need to do less though, too much is way worse then not enough haha! Also you have some damn nice left hand doubles going on in this video... sweet song.

  • All I can day is HOLY CRAP! That was great!

  • Kick-Ass-E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T

    Thx for sharing...

    AL

  • Well done! Really nice technique. That one little part where you were slow, I sort of liked it. Seldom does a drummer ever drag, usually the other way! Plus that was so small. Very well done, thank you for sharing. You make it look easy, but more importantly you make it look fun. Thanks!

  • @oneolddrummer Thank you!

  • good stuff bro

  • I can't play the intro -.- damn my one summer of drumming education

  • @IEATTHECHILDREN If you want to learn it, is there anything I could do to help you?

  • @drummerhabes Well I think I got the intro down a little, but I'm still playing slow. But if I practice this weekend, I'll probably be able to play it very well.

  • @drummerhabes I could use some help!

  • 5 stars, good example of how being relaxed comes through in the sound, you look totally relaxed..and it's obvious which cymbal is your favororite too .

  • Great job

  • Wow. You both nailed the original AND added new created fills! I cut my drumming teeth on this song about 20 years ago. Still so fun to play. Thanks for recording this!

  • @crazeytrain No problem, thanks for the comment!

  • Fantastic bro, perfect and clean

  • Dude. Sick song. Sick drumming.

  • please tell me you're looking for a guitarist, bassist, synthesist, and vocalist. And that you live in Connecticut...

  • @viper5390 haha I am looking for a guitarist, bassist, synthesist, and vocalist. Unfortunately...... I live about 1,500 miles away from Connecticut. :(

  • This is the best cover on any song and with any instrument I've ever seen by a non professional . You did a great job dude and should get yourself a band.

  • I love the drums for this song

  • you are awesome. but i have a question, is it hard to be played? i really wanna learn it.

  • Great drumming, drum tuning & audio mix.

  • Wonderful!!!

  • fucking awesom

  • I'm in love with your drum kit.

  • @tcramer43 Thanks, it was in a very comfortable configuration for this song. Kinda makes me want to switch it back...

  • Thanks for the comments and...

    Grazie, il mio amico dall'Italia!

  • Steve miller will live on forever, awesome cover man

  • This is the best cover of this song on YouTube for sure.

  • Love the drums on this track and you did it a solid by covering it so flawlessly, I've been looking for a china cymbol to do it the same justice. What China do you play on?

  • @Hayd3nM0 Thanks! It's a Sabian AAX china.

  • that was really good. congrats. best ive seen. how old are you?

  • @jakeforbes Thanks a lot! I think my age is on my channel...

  • kick ass cover!!!

  • @metallicarocks911 Thanks!

  • Good flowing technique, couple spots were a little different, but it still sounded good with what you did in them spots. In the coarse you were in the pocket, you helped me understand a couple spots that I needed help on, Thanks.....8-)

  • @BumpNrun69 Thanks, glad it helped!

  • I played for many years and you are a very talented young man better than I ever was keep it up!

  • @HunterCO1 Thanks for the kind words! You have some great video uploads, especially the Ted Nugent one!

  • @drummerhabes Thanks I love terrible ted. One thing I did not think to say was this. Your brain freeze it happens to the best drummers on the planet. Is what impressed me the most about you was how you recovered from it that was awesome and that is what makes a great drummer. Nobody is perfect those things happen but when you can cover it up so well as you did means 99% of the people out there would never notice.

Ironic aint your little hickup is what impressed a fellow ex drummer the most.

  • Excellent - Great Job!!!!

  • Thanks!

  • Man that was awesome. i wouldn't of noticed the mistake if you hadn't put the notation thing.

  • Thanks, maybe I shouldn't have put it there lol... but I can't watch this video without thinking "Man that part sounds bad"

  • Awesome job drummerhabes!!

You got this one down perfectly & your kit sounds great too!

  • Thank you!

  • hey great job! very well covered and not overdone. Also agree, the china sounds great in the recording!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • very nice work.....and, I dig that china.

  • Thanks, I dunno if it was the mic placement or just the way I was hitting it that day but I agree... it sounds better than it usually does in this video.

  • Excellent cover - well done.

  • Thanks for the comments!

  • Thumbs up!!...great cover...sounds great.

  • Great job man!
