Their thechnique is flawless, however they need to evolve in their strategy to make it to WORLD CHAMPIONS. Many will say Salsa dancing is not about perfection... it's about feeling. I think it's about combining technique and feeling. That's where the problem resides!
They should integrate some more basic technique into their routine and more flavor... VOILA, they will finally WIN!!!
They are definetely amazing. But a little languid and wider movements would provide a contrast from time to time to their fantastic and very difficult speed at close quarters

I think that people are giving negative comments...but I would like to see these people do what Junior and Emily just did... I think these guys are amazing... age and all that aside, they are great, in competition there is always politics, maybe that is why they aren't winning 1st.. but hopefully that will change next year.. They are great... all the best to Junior and Emily..theyve got my unconditional support 100%
I had a time to chill with junior ....he wants to elevate salsa and bring the bar up not down.... just cuz people say he it isnt dancing since it dont got "passion" he does got it if he spends 6 months out of the year coming up with the routine and perfecting it ....just cuz its faster and more intricate doesnt mean their not dancing... although my opinion stands that he has great body movement and should highlight it throughout except for the ending. Junior and Emily will win it one day...
I think that some of these comments below are extremely negative and limited in view. Emily is only, what 18 or 19 and he is 22 or 23 years old? He has been choreographing since he was a teenager. I think that with youth they're going for a speed and a wow factor. As they age and mature, I think that you will start to see a difference in the routines. If people continue to cut them down and not add anything how will they ever improve?

Solution: she needs to get rid of her brother...he is no dancer whatsoever, his moves are so cheesy and pathetic. he is horrible. as long as she partners with junior, oliver and luda will beat because they both have technique and are actually dancing mambo not just spinning. I say Emily should partner with John (liz rojas partner) they'll make a better couple. (liz you need to retire with those knocked knees). Junior do something else martial arts perhaps? Salsa isn't for you....
3rd was the best they could and I don't even think they deserved that placing. First of all, yes they get off beat. 2nd, its not about spins its about dancing, 3rd, THEY DON'T HAVE TECHNIQUE, who ever thinks otherwise is wrong, their shine was horrible, emily's top half is beautiful she spots beautifully but her legs and feet...horrible feet ask any TRAINED DANCER to see what they think about her feet and they will tell you she has no technique....shame she is a good dancer.
Damm, so much talk & not a single vid of you dancing. They have technique and sabor. Their style in this vid isn't representative of social dancing whatsoever - this' for the crowd who loves turns & tricks and it's what uplift them - that entertainment factor. just watch any performance vid, every couple does at least 1 trick which can never be done on social dancing unless you want to knock down everybody. You have the rigtht to your comments but, you aren't really important nor an authority.
By all this I don't try to pick on their well deserved reputation as fast dancers and great spinners with good technique, but that's of no use, if you can't keep dancing in a consistant beat. Best regards
Pay close attention to their steps and the corresponding beat, and you will see. Any professional dancer (LIKE THE JUDGES) can tell you that they made a mess out of the rithm. And what a coincidende that in this year's competition, 40% of the final score was for timing. So I wasn't there phisically, but I've seen all the videos and me and my fellow dancers can tell you that they are really great, but they could have done better. .
I will tell you why they ended up third. You would know that easily if you were a professional dancer. If you look closely at the semifinal video, you will see that their technique is great, that's out of the discussion, the problem with Junior and Emily is that they ALWAYS make a MESS of timing. They were supposed to dance ON 2... ON 2, and what they did was a messy combination of ON 1 and On 2.

Wow! I am never tired to watch Junior and Emily dancing.
